"Best Family Holiday Ever!"

10.0

I read so many mixed reviews prior to going but I’m so happy I listened to the positive ones. From day one the staff treated us like royalty. Honesty couldn’t do enough for us. The cleaner, animation team, bar men, pool guys and restaurant staff were brilliant. It got to the point where I didn’t even need to leave my sun lounger to get a drink as the staff would constantly make sure we had one. Special mention to Adel the pool guy who made sure we had sun loungers next to the pool each day so the kids could play in the pool in front of us. My daughter loved the mini disco and the animation team did a brilliant job each night. The food was the only down side of the stay. Breakfast was fine and always something to eat. Lunch we found the English restaurant next to the shop was good as the kids loved the chicken goujons but tea was a waste of time. We ate out every night in naama bay which wasn’t an issue as it was ridiculously cheap. Although the food wasn’t up to much I’d say it was 9.5/10 overall. Will definitely be booking again!

"Good holiday overall but wouldn’t return due to the food and the entertainment issues"

6.0

The hotel overall had large comfortable rooms, they could do with some areas of maintenance but overall good. The hotel is located in a good spot with easy access through the Naama bay hotel down the lift to the 1st floor to access the main strip. The staff are amazing in all areas and can’t do enough for you. Pool towels are put down for you on a morning and none of the usual sunbed wars which is a bonus. Our drinks were never empty and the pool staff made sure you had drinks throughout the day at your sunbed. The pools and slides were great especially the wave pool although it does require a little tlc due to flaking paint. The lifeguards are great and work really hard. Now to the restaurant, the staff are attentive and welcoming and Ahmed is great at playing games at your table putting a smile on your face. Unfortunately the food is not great, I managed to find something for breakfast most days but lunch we went to the small English restaurant everyday next to the supermarket where they did English food included in the all inclusive luckily consisting of sandwiches or burgers and hotdogs. For the evening meal I could only find something edible on one occasion and that was in the onsite Italian restaurant which did lovely food but your only allowed one visit per stay. We did try the main restaurant every night but never found anything edible and don’t assume your eating chicken off the bbq as pigeon is a delicacy apparently. There is a McDonald’s off the main strip which does lovely double cheeseburgers luckily and there is a restaurant on the right when you exit onto the strip called new panorama which does lovely food and fed my family of four for £30 with drinks. The hotel entertainment is mainly aimed at the Russians so wasn’t great for the English guests but the English guests are outnumbered by the Russian guests and a heads up they don’t understand the concept of queuing and will push you out of the way. Overall a good holiday but wouldn’t return due to the lack of entertainment and the food.

"not 5 * but 3* but could be"

8.0

This hotel is a good hotel but its not 5* more 3* But it could be . The main pool is so clean and well maintained staffed by 3 lifeguards .There are 3 other pools 1 which is the wave pool and another which has 3 water slides all with life guards there is also another pool which is great for big family group as you cand take it over. Down side pool was never open before 09.00 some times 10.00 due to cleaning but no need to get up early for sunlounges as plenty still at 11.00 pool also shuts at 18.00 for cleaning ?? There is an animation team but when i was there it consisted of 1 man who worked so hard. stretching at 10.30 killer darts 11.15 aqua aerobics 12.00 and he made sure he went round everyone to let them know when /where things were happening Afternoons 3.30 killer dart and then water polo also some days there was belly dancer show or dance show and oddly some days " characters in in flatable costumes?" There was also a day when the placed inflatables in the pool ( like slides and stuff to climb on) Little annoying is the Spa guys who constantly come round the pool to sell treatments but after a while they do leave you alone The head Pool man comes round regularly to check on you and changes the towels My room was central over looking the pool 3rd floor for me it was great but be warned no lift in any part of the hotel so this could be issue its all stairs even down from reception to restaurant or pool or bars WiFi amazing free and easy to connect and use Down side the restaurant staff and very friendly but the food is a major issue. Its aimed at the Russian cliental: Breakfast Chicken nuggets mash potato chips mashed pumpkin calamari There was cereal a toaster that took 4 trips round to get any colour on pancakes which were ok i did see the chefs reluctantly make an omelette a couple of times The fresh fruit, selection of cheese and cold meats and salad were put out for breakfast and left there for lunch and dinner( you could tell this as chesses was dry and curled same with the salad and fruit) Also lots of files The lunch and dinner was very hit and miss chips for breakfast but not dinner ? soups were not what was written on the cards lack of plates and crockery meat was tuff and boiled. If the salads had been fresh this would help The pasta option was just spaghetti tipped in a large tray in a tomatoes sauce no fresh option or different sauce The only time Wine was an option was at lunch or diner 1 small glass per person not in any of the bars The Italian restaurant which you can go to once per stay is amazing excellent food and i had 3 glasses of wine ! The AI bars shut at 10pm as i have said no wine but beer cocktails vodka gin etc The evening shows are standard mini disco then 9pm there was belly dancer / Africa show / fire show / strong man/ the whirley dervish man , This was held in what can only be described as old basket ball court on patio chairs which had seen better days and the bar was a shack which closed at 9.30? This hotel is central to nama bay just go across the road walk through hotel called nams bay resort and the there is a lift which takes you down and in to nama bay Nama waves is a great hotel but not 5* could be needs overhaul of food in restaurant . How the food is served . invest in more crockery how to store food what food English people like .. The Italian restaurant can do it, They bring out food to pool bar for lunch at about 11.45 again it sits in full sun to 5pm no one eats it

Travelled to Naama waves July 25 for 11 nights, solo parent with 2 children 17 & 4 years. Disappointing upon arrival and wished I had changed the hotel as I’d almost done so. However, we have just returned having had a brilliant time! Rooms - Big, spotless and beds comfortable. Ground floor facing the pools so easily accessed out the patio doors. Air conditioning was amazing and very much needed. Pools- Spotless, wave pool was fun and lots of sunbeds and no need to rush out to get one. Lovely big towels provided with a card. Pool side loos are clean, but we just used our room. Wi-Fi- Brilliant in all areas of hotel and room. Location- Once you know where to go, it’s a great location for Naama bay! Felt safe wandering around in the evening and ate out a couple of times. Bugs/bites- Handful of bites, was armed and ready but it was fine! Food- Personally we tried and struggled which I’m usually able to find something. Italian restaurant was lovely we really enjoyed our meal. Hotel generally- It’s shabby and run down in parts, this is why I was disappointed initially and comparing to other places I’ve been recently. Entertainment- Not the best at times, but the hotel staff really tried. Not much for young ones but we just played in the pools. Trips- went to the White Island, ras Mohammed, camels , Bedouin party, desert quad sagar and horse trek on the beach. Amazing and all booked with Michelle ( Micheal) at EMA tours just outside the Buddha bar to the right as you enter the strip, great prices. What made our holiday is the staff. The staff at this hotel are amazing. The pool staff got us sunbeds and towels daily, were so friendly and chatted to us and they took the health and safety of the pool area very seriously! Pool bar staff brought us drinks and again always a smile despite working in such heat. The restaurant staff, finding us tables and bringing drinks, always welcoming, smiling and happy in their work. As I said this hotel is really clean and the cleaning staff are always keeping on top of it. On our last day I asked what time the restaurant opened as we were getting picked up at 1845, the manager arranged for the staff to let us into the restaurant early before opening so we could have our tea. I certainly have never had that happen before! My mind was totally changed on this hotel, as I said by the hard working, friendly and dedicated staff. Really lovely holiday.

"An experience to remember"

8.0

Sit tight and get ready for a read… My friend and I have just come back from Naama waves after a 10 night stay.. POSTIIVES : • Room cleaned everyday and if wanted fresh towels or linen changed then it was done (you just leave a card out for them) • Air con was godsend in the heat! • Option to have your room later if you have a later flight (for a small extra charge) • Ahmed in the restaurant really went out his way to welcome my friend and I, also to inform us of everything and greeted us everyday, from table service if we needed drinks or even if it was busy he would save us a table • There wasn’t a rush for sunbeds you could pretty much go out at any time and there would still be some left • Pool bar staff were very attentive NEGATIVES : • Food. Every night seemed the same. Didn’t cater for much variety. Would be difficult if you don’t like to explore much. If you’re a full vegetarian don’t expect to eat. There was one night everything was ONLY fish based. No flavour in anything. Not sure exactly what it was I ate but I was very sick the first night. Second night onwards my friend and I had both sickness AND diarrhoea (we are still poorly now!) • Waiters although they are good at clearing tables, some don’t really give you time to finish before they clear your table. Also very off putting that some waiters just stare at you. • Although the small shop is very handy for convenience whoever was working when we went in would stand behind us until we bought something (this was very off putting for us) • When you’re trying to relax round the pool you will be asked by various (I’m assuming outside companies) if you want massages or hair braiding. Multiple times of saying no they will still come back. • Poor WiFi (not sure if it’s Egypt in general but it’s awful!). I’d recommend getting a WIFI box but do your research first as we were conned!! OUTSIDE THE RESORT: I’d HIGHLY recommend going to see Michele at EMA Tours, was 10x cheaper than booking online and we wish we had found it sooner. He gave us the prices in British Pounds which made our lives a lot easier. We did the dolphin show, picked up outside our resort and bought back. We also did paragliding where Michele took us where we needed to be with no issues. Camel riding was an experience, however we felt obligated to buy things. Our tour guide who spoke very good English took our photos and we bought them and had them sent via WhatsApp. Boat trip to White Island was amazing! It was an early start but worth it from start to finish. Naama Bay was great for tourist shops however you do get haggled ALOT so be prepared and be careful. There are very small and dingy shops. There is a McDonalds there but it is very old and smells DISGUSTING. Never in my life have I smelt anything like it so AVOID! Naama Bay was easy to get to, you cross the road and go through Naama hotel resort, head inside and use the lift it brings you out next to Buddha bar. MONEY : I would advise exchanging your cash as unless you have WiFi they can charge you more without you knowing and you won’t realise until you have internet. For example we were told £17 but once we had WiFi and it came through we were actually charged £21. The beach although you are right near, it seems each hotel has their own part? We never found the Naama Waves beach in the end 😂 We found a lovely restaurant called Blue Stone, the owner was very welcoming and the food was excellent. We liked it so much after dinner one day we went back the next night. I highly recommend the curry and the cocktails are tasty! Everyone hypes about the Hard Rock Cafe but we wish we had discovered Blue Stone earlier. Avoid salads, avoid meats. The ice is bagged. Clean your teeth with ONLY bottled water. Unfortunately despite our positives, the sickness we have endured throughout our stay has made our negatives outweigh anything good. I was sick last time I came to Egypt and really wanted to give it a second chance but it was not to be. So please be prepared for this. I wouldn’t say this hotel is 5* especially for the money more like a 3+. (Just because it’s expensive doesn’t necessarily mean anything).

I really enjoyed my annual vacation with my family at *Fun & Sun Sharm Waves Hotel*. Everything was well-organized, starting from the booking with Mr. Mohamed Yousry to the warm welcome by Mr. Alaa and Mr. Ahmed at the reception — all very professional and polite. The rest of the staff, including the restaurant team, pool crew, and entertainment team, were also excellent. I highly recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, friendly staff, and great location in Sharm El Sheikh. Eng. Hussein Gaber 20/06/2025

"Happy holiday"

10.0

The Hotel , the staff and the food were excellent and I'm a picky eater. The staff cannot do enough for you. I went for a 2week relaxing holiday and that's what I experienced. We have booked for next year after just 3 days of our holiday. The only down fall for me was the lack of entertainment of a night. There was entertainment, but not every night and it was finished by 10pm. Ideal if you have children, but if you don't you will have to go out to Naama Bay.

The hotel in some places needs a bit of a makeover and the food wasn't the best but we never left the restaurant hungry. It could be a bit hotter, a few microwaves would solve that problem. The staff make up for any negatives, they are exceptional. We have never met a team so attentive in any hotel we have stayed in anywhere in any country we have visited. The guys at the pool, Bob, Hany and Addy were friendly, helpful and greeted every morning with a smile. Our sunbeds were reserved for us every day. Mamood and Ragab at the pool bar made sure our drinks were regularly replenished. Ahmed in the restaurant always found us a nice table and brought our morning coffee or beers with our evening meal. The guys in the mermaid bar, Ibrahim and mohamed were two of the nicest barmen we have ever met. By the time we left we felt like we had known them for years and not just 10 days. The staff work hard in this hotel and made our holiday one we will never forget. We never go to the same place twice but we loved the holiday so much we have booked to go again in March 2026.

"Wonderful staff, hotel could do with sprucing up."

8.0

So we just got back from our stay at Naama Waves, what we will say about our trip is it was amazing. We have 2 young children under age 6 and they had the best time. From the moment we arrived at front desk, the hotel receptionist took our passports and said you go and eat first i will take care of everything and check you in. When we came back from the restaurant he had prepared everything for us and gave us our key cards for our room. We then woke up to 38°C the following day, thank god for AC because we were extremely hot to say the least. The food was standard holiday buffet style, they would do a different cuisine each day. I would like to give a shout out to the restaurant manager Ahmed and one of the waiters very young lad Abdul Rehman, they would see us coming and get a table ready and already knew our drinks. Obviously we dont drink due to being muslim but they kept topping us up. The restaurant manager learnt that my eldest loved brownies and they had run out at lunch he went to the head chef who prepared 4 delicious fresh nutella brownies for my daughter. Every time we walked into the restaurant he would ask my daughters what they wanted and befriended them. The hospitality and the staff are unreal and we have never felt more welcome in a hotel and genuinely feel like the staff here are one of the main reasons we would come back to the hotel. Now, the negatives. The hotel itself is lovely and clean and the rooms are spacious, however there were a lot of things that could do freshing up on. The rooms need a fresh lick of paint with new furniture as the rooms look dark with all the wood accents, the bathrooms can also do with updating and new shower heads with new drainage systems. Everytime we had a shower we had to stop as the water kept rising up almost flooding the entire bathroom. The waves pool is needing to be updated as the pool itself is lovely however the flooring is sharp me and my daughters have cuts all over ourselves due to the pool being too sharp. The sunbeds were almost always taken we luckily made a friend who would wake up early for a run so she would put our towels on sun beds for us. (Thanks Becks!) Some staff speak limited English as the preferred languages out there are Arabic and Russian so trying to communicate with them was a little difficult but thank god for google translate! The hotel wifi is not the best it would cut out or keep disconnecting itself whilst we were in the middle of phonecalls or whatsapp video calls from home so i would recommend buying an online sim card, i used a company called Maya Mobile paid 5 quid for 1gb of data for 5 days. The beach isnt very far, do not use google maps as it will tell you to walk around genena city and through the long way which is around a 35 minute walk, when you can just cut through the other sister hotel Naama Bay hotel and resort. There is soho square and a fix price market where you can buy everything from Dubai chocolate to very good copies of bags, watches and designer things. The beach from that square is 2 minutes and each hotel has a section on there for itself. The old market is also located within Soho square where you can again buy a lot of things but be prepared to negotiate and to walk away if the deal isn't good enough for you, they will eventually say yes to your price. Kids entertainment. They start kids entertainment at 8.30 every night and play the same songs every night which are now stuck in mine and the wifes brain for the forseeable! There was also a daredevil, belly dancer and magician that came! Tips: take the strongest bug repellant you can find before you go because i was attacked by mosquitos, they seem to love my blood and now im itching like a mad man. Overall i would come back for the staff however after the hotel had some renovations. If you want late checkout it is around 23 quid but they will only give you until 3pm they said no at first but then later said yes!
