Edwards Cottage - Grove Road Cottages

Needs a lot of TLC

Location was excellent. Communication with the host was easy and fast. Space in the property was good for a short stay.

Shower was not useable - either scolding hot or freezing cold. No information was given for how to use the amenities (tvs, heating etc). Quite noisy on the main road. Blinds did not keep the light out in the bedrooms. Parking was a 5 min walk away but we had 3 kids, a suitcase and multiple bags and there is nowhere outside to park temporarily to unload, so it made it quite tricky.

Cottage was clean and comfortable enough but there were problems and a feeling it was "unloved".

Lack of bedside lamp. Hot water tap in bathroom sink allowing only a trickle of hit water. Lack of spare blankets so cold at night. Difficulty finding the key lockbox. Pots and pans old with scratched teflon. TV difficult to operate. Living room cramped. Generally needs more attention and care and skme instructions for visitors

The location and it was a nice little cottage.

It needed a clean it feels very unloved. The kitchen was terrible all three freezer drawers were filthy and I had to wash a drawer out just to use it. The utensils were awful too, we went to Poundland and bought some to use. I also had to clean out the microwave. There was also numerous plates with big chips in them which I found a bit odd. The bathroom upstairs had cobwebs on the walls and hanging off the ceiling and the bed had a very large broken spring as well as my husband being on the lop sided half. Admittedly we didn’t complain to the home owner as felt there was little they would do so I just cleaned it and got on with our stay.

Location great and really good to have permit parking and good size space which is well equipped

Bit chilly downstairs with road noise and draft from the front door.

Location was within east reach of town and attractions but far enough out not be be in the crowds

Originally booked for 5 people but the 4th bed not made up (not a problem as one member couldn’t make it ) The owner was contactable and I feel confident he would have sorted it had we had needed to contact him .
