Blackbeard's Lodge

We choose this lodging because it was recommended and pet friendly. Room F literally is a room and bathroom. No hangers for clothing, one towel rack in the sauna of a bathroom, shower screamed the whole time water was on hot. Has a TINY coffee pot, no filters, no coffee. We had to sign a paper saying our pets would not get on the furniture, etc. Isn't that why we paid $35.00/day for each animal? Because it's pet friendly? Front desk folks were less than happy to be at work. Could not use the ice machine in the lobby for coolers, had to purchase a $4.00 bag of ice everyday for the beach. OH and the TV.......it had vertical lines across the entire screen, the entire time we were there. My husband is not one to complain, so we dealt with our choices and stayed here. But it was a one and done.

Great location, property has a good flow to it. Movement from the parking lot to the lobby to the guest rooms is smooth.

I liked that we could control the AC ourselves

The water had a weird smell to it, house keeping only made the beds and changed towels however, we had gone to the beach and the tubs had some sand, they didn’t bother removing the sand or cleaning the actual tub nor toilet

While our stay was comfortable enough we were disappointed in the conditions in our room. Some dried brown streaks running down the wall under our window and around our door. There was also what looked like dried food or boogers on the wall above our headboard. The pool hours were disappointing as we wanted to swim after dinner but the pool closes at 8:30. On the plus side there was plenty of hot water to bathe, the A/C worked well and even though it was peak season it was quiet and we had a good night sleep.

This was the first time staying at this property. It was a delight. They had coffee all day, a hot water kettle for tea and a small game room for all! Staff was very nice and accommodating! We will be back!

Exactly what we were hoping for. A nice, clean place to sleep while we explored Ocracoke.

Staff wonderful. No human can control rain, hot weather, or humidity but the staff does everything else it can to make up for it----great morning coffee, advice, helpful, history, friendly, great room AC! We will visit again!
