The Dial House

Clean comfortable room and well appointed. Good shower/pressure/hot water. Clear communication from absent host. Location looking on to market square was perfect for our needs.

Unfortunately the whole experience was let down by an extremely poor breakfast being very prescriptive. i.e. 1 savory, 1 sweet pastry, 1 drink and 1 piece of fruit. I asked for my sausage roll to be warmed, but was told this was not possible. I would have much preferred to go out for breakfast and pay a little less.

Missing a cushion on one of the seats. So had to sit on the base of the chair. For the price, I expect all pieces of furniture to be usable.

I was told it was the best B&B he had stayed in. Very clean and very comfy bed.

The location was excellent, right in the middle of the town, however it was very quiet, the room was spotless and warm even though it was minus degrees outside. There's a free public car park just around the corner, there's a lovely coffee shop downstairs which turns into a wine bar later on and stays open until 10 pm, our room was directly above the coffee shop but we didn't hear anything in the room, it was lovely and quiet.

The fire alarm went off at around 9 pm it went off after about 15 minutes, the fire brigade turned up too but we were assured that it was a false alarm.

What couldn’t you like

I have stayed in many places and I can safely say this was one of my top three! Cozy clean super comfortable the surrounding ( the village) quaint and gorgeous friendly bar downstairs gave first drink on the house for guests the breakfast was delicious and homemade wonderful service bed unbelievably comfortable I could move in ! Honestly I wish I could give it 100 stars and more ! We will go back for sure … Christmas lights( sweet and tasteful) were a bonus as were the homemade eco friendly decorations PERFECT!!

Beautiful building in a beautiful friendly village. The room was large, lovely, cosy and warm. The pub across the road were very welcoming and friendly.

Would be nice to have a choice for breakfast, instead of just pastries. No staff around to help with queries and our bath needed cleaning before using.

Room was nice and very clean . Great location for a nights stay. Local pub and shops.

Staffless hotels always ring alarm bells to me and this was no exception. I don’t like them and this reminded me why. We didn’t have enough towels and because there’s no one at the hotel it took an hour to get some delivered to us and by then it was too late as we were ready to check out.
