The breakfast choice wasn’t the best

We have stayed at the Cheshire many many times, usually in one of their themed suites, but our last visit was a disappointment. The hotel is looking a little ragged around the edges and housekeeping seems to have slipped quite a bit. This last visit we stayed in the Treasure Island Suite. The main issue we had on our first night was that the bedding was simply saturated with smoke smell. It was late when we went to be, so all we could do is request replacement pillows and suck it up. It was very very unpleasant. Not one of the employees we talked to either when calling for new pillows nor at the front desk the following morning to ensure the bedding was completely changed was remotely concerned with this issue. Not one of the four we spoke to even offered a feeble apology. We were perplexed as to how this could even happen but passing the laundry room to our parking spot, we ran into a group of employees smoking and the riddle was solved. Other issues this trip included a rancid refrigerator in the room (it was unplugged and unclean) and an intolerably noisy air conditioner in the room. We also struggled to turn off the jets in the tub; they seemed to have a pause button that was impossible to understand or turn off and the tub air dry continued to turn on hourly throughout the night. The loud a/c and random air drying of the tub was only outdone by the bathroom light, which is supposed to turn off automatically but never did for two of our three nights. We came home quite exhausted after three sleepless nights. Can no longer recommend. We will be staying elsewhere in May.

Stayed here before and was a better room then, coffee pot broken, plug in a bit odd and the shower door very difficult to turn on with out being soaked with cold water 💧. Cool place love the museum feel of it.

It’s a cool concept. The location is great for getting around St.Louis.

Lack of room amenities (microwave, fridge) the headboard for one of the beds had been damaged prior to our arrival but had not been replaced or replaced. There were only two towels for a double occupancy room. The Basso restaurant was overpriced and food was inedible, wait staff were wonderful though.

Staff very nice. However, property felt very tired. Room clean and large but furniture and some paint overly worn . The included breakfast was very good. Common areas smelled of disinfectant.

Atmosphere, room, breakfast

Loud powerwashing happening all day outside my window one day while working remotely in the room, but that is likely not a common occurrence.

The hotel is rather old and dated; the amenities and furnishings no longer meet current 4-star standards. Many rooms have extremely noisy air conditioning. Breakfast is poor and basic, served in a cramped space, and guests are forced to sit in the lobby. The staff was not particularly friendly. To avoid.

Dinner in the pub was delish and the service was excellent.

The room wasn't complete when we entered the room- not enough towels.

The bedding was amazing and the staff was exceptional I will definitely recommend this hotel chian to wvryne I know and I will be back also myself
