The Barrington Hotel

The hotel has a great location, which made it very convenient to walk around and explore the city. The room and bathroom were very clean, cozy, and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, and it was nice to have a small fridge and a coffee machine in the room. The pool was great, and there is also a café on the first floor where you can have breakfast from the menu. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and welcoming.

Everything was fine

I got to the Barrington and checked into my room. It smelled like mild urine and strong perfume. It was warm and damp. I went to pull the desk chair out, luckily before I touched it I noticed that there was dried up white stuff on the back of the chair as well as some dried on food. There was white stuff on the chair beside the bed and the table had stuff dried on it as well. I tried to call the front desk but the room phone did not work, I called from my phone they answered and gave me another room. The second room was a lot better in comparison, but the actual rooms are so run down compared to the photos they have online. The staff was helpful but I really don't think this hotel is worth paying almost $400 a night for. I will not book here again.

What I did NOT like was Booking.com not cancelling all my Canada hotel bookings when I cancelled each one individually well ahead of the cancellation date. I had to cancel my trip because my wife was suddenly taken ill. I am now down over £200 for hotel bookings I cancelled on Booking.com website. I even cancelled this hotel and the Barrington Hotel in Halifax again yesterday but you still went ahead and paid the Digby hotel. An apology and a full refund would be nice. I am and have been a small but regular customer over a number of years.

The location was great

They didn’t mention parking was an extra fee and just charged me.

Location was excellent

Parking was quite a distance uphill and was an extra charge. The room we were given must have been the farthest from the entrance they had and I have mobility issues.

La proximité du bord de mer et de restaurants ainsi que de plusieurs lieux à visiter. Très bien situé pour faire beaucoup à pied.

L'hôtel est super mais aurait besoin d'un rafraîchissement au niveau décoration. Idéalement enlever les tapis également. Si non c'est très bien.

The hobby was the nicest part of the hotel. The staff were nice. Location is good.

Room not clean, mystery stains on walls and ceilings and carpets and lamp shades and bed sheets. Extremely outdated, wall paper is definitely from the 80's ad the price for what you get is a rip off.
