Hampton Inn Beckley

Location. Check in staff was great.

TV didn't work, breakfast wasn't restocked quickly. Went down twice food was empty. Daytime staff behind desk not friendly. No soap or shower gel in shower

Basic older hotel which has been “updated.” Rooms are non-smoking; however the amount of smokers outside made our room smell like smoke. We were on the first floor. Breakfast was your standard breakfast for a Hampton Inn. Pool was decent. Staff were nice and friendly. Convenient location with lots of place to eat near by.

The good: Very nicely furnished deluxe room with dark wood pieces throughout. Deluxe room comes with coffee maker, microwave, and good sized fridge (inside a separate wood cabinet). The bad: This is an older hotel and several items needed to have a little care and maintenance (for instance, the utility access panel above the bathroom sink showed visible rusting; also, the box springs creaked noticeably). The lobby area is very small and poorly designed compared to newer competitors' properties. The breakfast was ok, but had fewer eating options compared to what other hotels offer. The ugly: The deluxe room was twice the cost of a similar room in a nearby newer competitor's hotel (total of $120/night vs. the Hampton Inn's $230/night). The competitor's hotel had fewer potential frills, but had a larger lobby and breakfast area. Overall, the Hampton Inn had a disappointing lower value (cost compared to comfort). I would use the lower priced, newer hotel if I am visiting the area again. In summary, the relatively high room cost and lower condition of the facility were disappointing. This Hampton Inn provided a stay much less satisfying than expected from a Hilton Hotel property.

The room and bedding had a musty odor. It was also noisy with doors banging on our hall all night.

Good location and easily accessible from the interstate.

Clean and comfortable Hampton met all expectations. Very professional staff. Elevators quick. Breakfast excellent. Parking is somewhat tight.

We have stayed here numerous times. Never a problem. Always confident it will be clean and friendly.

Bathrooms need upgrade. There were grout lines that were dirty around the tubs. Bathroom was clean but looked not clean coz of these

Easy check in, pool was nice after a long drive. Only complaint is there were dogs barking constantly that we did have to call the front desk. But they were quick to take care of issue.
