DoubleTree by Hilton Phoenix Midtown

From the moment we stepped to the property there was construction. It was very obvious. This was not a Union job as there was people everywhere not roped off for cleanliness. Working all hours of the night No working ice machine on any floor everything broken Pool was filthy Limited chairs at pool Hot tub was halfway drained, dirty filthy not functional Our room was clean and updated

Building under heavy construction, was not aware when booking, did not disclose when booked.

Great location but because I booked through Expedia, I had no knowledge that the hotel was under renovations. Ice machine on my floor was not working and the front desk said it was due to the power being out due to renovations. Had to go to the floor above or below mine to get ice. The outlet in the bathroom didn't work. The air condition was on for almost 2 hours and the room didn't seem to be cooling. The front desk did send maintenance while we were away. The pool was dirty, no water in the hot tub. The vending machine took my money and front desk said Id need to contact the vendor for a refund. I asked front desk if a manager could contact me, 48 hours later, still haven't heard from anyone. The front desk staff was very nice and provided us with free water since we couldn't get any from the vending machine. Not even one bottle of water in the hotel room.

Property was in middle of renovation - premise was dirty, noisy and unenjoyable, not relaxing at all.

They were undergoing construction downstairs, yet the staff was helpful and courteous in their makeshift desks. The room was very nice. Parking was very easy in the lot next door and they validated so I didn't have to pay anything for it. If I come back to the area, I will definitely stay here again.

For the price, this king bed was not worth it. Big hitter: the whole hotel was under construction. I'd wait to ever come back. Also, while the bed was firm and comfortable, the pillows were flat, hot water pressure WEAK, and pool closed for no posted reason. Front desk service was friendly but we didn't get a welcome bag.

The property is quite dated and in need of significant remodeling. The process is underway, but looks like it is moving slowly and long overdue.

Rooms were clean and spacious

Everything outside of the room is in disarray. The doors stick bad and are loud, the hotel under total reconstruction. Price should have been cheaper for the state of the hotel.
