I-Link Hostel & Cafe Shimanami

The set course dinner was phenomenal-something you would expect more at a nice hotel instead of a biking hostel. 3500 yen might seem like a high price for a dinner at a hostel but I highly recommend trying it, it is worth it! The place was very clean The location was great, being right across the street from a convenience store and down the street from an onsen The employees were very nice, hardworking, and spoke decent English.

The individual rooms don't have a door but rather a heavy curtain so if you're a sensitive sleeper it might not be ideal if people are being loud. However, I just put in the provided earplugs and slept very well.

Location was perfect and it was so well equipped with everything we needed for our two day cycle.

Very easy stay for cyclists doing the Shimanami Kaido; very easy to find along the blue line route. Staff were excellent at explaining everything (in English too), the dinner was tasty, and facilities were clean and easy to navigate. Bicycle storage was also secure and simple to use.

I could see it possibly being noisy at night if other guests are inconsiderate, but things were fine during my stay (perhaps as there weren't that many other guests). The individual bunks are a little cramped, but sufficient if you packed light and it's good value for what it is.

We ordered the hamburger and fried horse mackerel for dinner (which came with a little appetizer dish and salad) and it was phenomenal. My wife loved the hamburger dish and I would say the mackerel was in the top 3 best fish dishes I’ve ever had. I also absolutely loved the limoncello spirits they served too. Really hit the spot after a 70 km bike ride around the islands.

It would be a nice feature if the individual lights in the bunks had a dimmer to set the light level as they can be a bit harsh at night.

Great to stop here on Shimanami cycle. We made a dinner reservation too and the food was excellent.

Lage: direkt am Shimanami Kaido Trotz Hostel Atmosphäre: Nachtruhe ab abends 21h Alle Gäste halten sich an diese Regel Extrem gepflegt und sauber 7/11 direkt gegenüber- super Lösung für Frühstück und Abendessen und Snacks Mitgebrachtes Essen und Getränke können im Cafebereich verzehrt werden Free Coffee!! Außenbereich : laundery Facility; fahrradabstellplatz. Handtücher, Bettwäsche, Pyjamas werden gestellt

Bei Ankunft ( ca 17h) nach 5 h Fahrradtour im Regen Sagte man uns, dass abends das Restaurant bereits ausgebucht sei- schade.
