The Clarendon Hotel

Great location with parking on the seafront. Large room with double and single bed. Very clean. Soap and shower gel in bathroom but very low shower pressure. Cooked breakfast OK . Bar but shut by 9pm. Well stocked hospitality tray. Hotel had obviously been refurbished in last few years. Pleasant stay.

We stayed at the Clarenden for one night. Communication leading up to the stay was excellent. The hotel was traditional with original features but comfortable for the modern guest. The room was quite small but comfortable and clean. It was a very cold night leading up to the recent storm and the room was quite cold. Apart from that it was a very pleasant stay.

After looking through photos of The Clarenden Hotel in Morecombe (which all looked quite nice) we decided to book for one night in the “apartment suite” for us and our two children. To say we were shocked and disappointed was an understatement. The apartment smelt really stale and dirty and was run down. The carpets were stained and filthy. The walls were grubby and there was mould on the wall of one bedroom along with make-up marks over the wall. The curtain did not cover the window in the mouldy bedroom. There were, what appeared to be, blood splatters on the mattress of the sofa bed. The kitchen floor was sticky. The “bathroom” was located directly from the kitchen and the bathroom sliding door did not meet the wall so there was a large gap which meant that you could see straight in and any unpleasant toilet smell filled the kitchen. The whole apartment required decorating and painting. The only plus side for us were the views across the beach. We could not wait to leave! Awful experience which we will never repeat.

Very good hotel breakfast good bedroom perfect bar very good ample beers and lagers to choose from plenty car parking everything was spot on know faults at all. And the lift was a bonus I'll definitely be back in the near future staff very good nothing to much trouble can't fault the place

We have stayed here lots of times in the past but this time it was very disappointing . The room was clean but had an odour about it ,the. Curtains were poorly fitted . The tv could only receive one channel . We mentioned it to reception on our way out and returned to the one channel ? Generally the friendly , helpful , warm atmosphere was absent .

Tired old hotel, slow checkin, shower a trickle, excellent location however. Breakfast low quality so I left that, coffee stone cold. Cheap hotel, but cheap quality is what you get.

For the price, this is a pretty good hotel, but you must remember you are not paying top dollar, so cannot expect top dollar outcomes. Room was clean, comfy, spacious, the shower was not very strong, but it was hot, towels were too small, bed comfy, happy with the amenities in the room which included charging points (very useful!). Location is superb, easy walking distance to restaurants and town centre, beach right over the road. Service was flaky; had to wait a while to check-in as there was a wedding party consuming staff time. Breakfast was OK, nothing special, but the coffee was stone cold and the croissants were stale and crumbling. So I left most of my breakfast and got something at my destination. I think if the service was sorted, this would be a 5/5 stay at this price, but even a budget hotel can surely keep coffee warm.

We had a lovely stay at the Clarendon Hotel. The breakfast is well worth it. Generally quite clean rooms. The wifi isn't the best, the shower pressure is less than desirable. However the beautiful views and friendly atmosphere definitely makes up for it. The surrounding streets sometimes feel a little unsafe so I wouldn't let my children out on their own.

There was a miscommunication between Expedia and the hotel, as a result my room was double booked. However, Ody the night porter was an absolute star and sorted it all out. A clean room, just as expected. Thanks Ody!!!!

Excellent value for money. Helpful staff, large comfortable bedroom. Free parking situated on the front.
