The Red Lion at Hellidon

Super location. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much for them. We also had dinner and the menu was excellent as was the quality. Would highly recommend the Red Lion.

Nice village location and plenty of parking. Attractive old building, good sized bedroom and lovely bathroom. Good selection of extras e.g bottles of water and requisites in the bathroom. Nice coffee.

Steep stairs! Breakfast indifferent, where were the advertised cereals, fruit, yoghurt or indeed anything apart from the cooked option.

Great location, food in the pub was excellent, staff very helpful.

Stayed for three nights while visiting family. Lovely location and nice room. I thought breakfast meant a cooked full English in the restaurant but this is only served at weekends! However the Continental breakfast in our room was more than adequate. I ate downstairs in the evening and the food was delicious although the menu is small. The staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. Only complaint is one of two maintenance issues in room, shower not working as it should, window latches broken and extractor fan in bathrooms too noisy to use. The toilet brush and holder were filthy and needed replacing and the room whilst clean on the surface was very dusty in hidden places.

Cost of the wine. More people would drink in the bar if drinks were cheaper.

The bed mattress was awful and let down the stay, also the breakfast in a box was not great. A simple fix

Beautiful inn type hotel. Cosy bar area. Lovely English tiny village, with sheep and cows. Delicious food.
