Cornerstone Manor Hotel

The location was good for us as we were visiting family in Sale. There was plenty of parking. The key box system worked fine so we could check in any time.

The approach to the front door was not lit when we arrived so we had to use our phone torch to find the path.

Location very useful for Manchester, Chorlton, Altrincham and Sale. Easy parking. Very clean,

We stayed here last year when it was run by the previous owners (who had glowng reviews for years). We came again earlier this year and it was obviosuly being convereted then. At the time it was reasomnably comfortable but with plumbing problems. There was someone on site to help with any queries. NOW, it is fully converted, and appears to be remotely managed. The garden is unkemp, the entrance now has a bank of 12 or so key safes. There was noone around except a cleaner. Our room was small, and cold. My husband was at risk of taking his eye out with the corner of a shelf everytime he got out of bed, and in fact hit is head on the overhanding TV. There was only one cup and saucer which leads me to think this was really for one person occupancy. The kettle was strupidly small on a small lead and i had to boil it on the floor. The table had a broken leg. No breakfasts on offer. A huge disappointment after enjoying it last year. We wlil not be coming back.

It was comfortable, clean and safe. Fair prices and had free parking included. All that I needed. Beautiful building & great location

There was about 4 sheets of toilet paper when I arrived for a 2 night stay. Had to buy toilet paper the first night. Also wasn’t told about the key box entry or how to find the parking (to the rear of the property). The shower in room 1 is so small you have to open the doors to bend to be able to wash your legs.

Generally it's clean and cheap.

No heating. Low water pressure. Cheap mattresses.

Room setting and furniture are very old, lights are very dim, not clean, bed is wobbling and creaking

Convenient location for our purposes - meeting family and friends

Unwelcoming appearance on arrival, laundry & vacuum cleaner in the hall & books piled on landing, the bedroom was dingy, damp & dirty. Rotten window frames & mould round the shower tray. TV perched on pile of books, no heating or air conditioning, no hand towel. At the end of second day had to ask for dry towels, coffee (only 2 sachets on arrival) milk (had to buy some on arrival) & for bins to be emptied (didn't bother asking for the same on 3rd day). Had to buy soap since container was empty & one shower gel sachet for 3 days for 2 people. Only one bedside table. Both 'reception' contact numbers were an answer machine and we had to go outdoors to front doorbell to contact someone - never saw any staff. No dining area, lounge access, etc, etc. as specified on our booking.
