Casa do Mercado

Room was just as pictured. Clean, updated, and comfortable. I arrived very late and check-in directions were easy. Location was excellent!

The location is ideal, close to center city, restaurants, grocery, and the market. The furnishings are brand new, gorgeous colors, a bit stiff, but comfortable. The staff is friendly and will try to accommodate you. There is no full kitchen, it is a common dining room, with refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker and dishware. There may not be stove in the future because of new laws/ fire safety for these historic buildings. I loved the space and proportions of my room, ceilings are tall and balcony windows bring in sunlight and street views. Minor issues, the fan in bathroom making an uneven noise, the shower door not shutting tightly, due to renovations that are finishing up as of end of July 2019. Overall it was a terrific place.

Exceptional property. Beautiful rooms and layouts. Pity we only had one night as I would have loved to stay more. Well done!!

We were literally the first people to stay here. We arrived hours early and they were more than awesome with allowing us in. The room was way better than expected including the kitchenette and really unique windows that give you a balcony feel. The location couldn’t be beat as we were walking distance to everything downtown and had the convenience of the farmers market right next door. I highly recommend this place but would not be surprised if prices go up. I slept better than ever because the bed was on the firm side and I like that. The AC is great and the bathroom was very clean.

Casa do Mercado opened on the day we arrived so we were amongst the first guests. The suite we had was beautiful and spacious, as was the kitchen. They had contacts for in room massage too. My only real complaint was the tv was too small for a room of that size plus the signal was blurry but staff said this was going to be remedied. It’s a perfect place where you can self cater and staff responded very quickly to our questions. It’s near the major bus stops and the marina for activities too. We will stay here again when we return to the Azores!

It was brand new and we were guests on day 1 of opening. Staff really helpful and respond quickly to messages. Near marina and town centre. Our suite had a private kitchen with all apparatus needed. Only issue was the front entry keypad that does not always work and you have to enter the code times. They even provided a contact for in room massage that we used. We would happily stay again.
