Ardoe House Hotel & Spa

The room was lovely and clean. The staff were friendly and inviting.

I expect a spa to be relaxing but there were children's swimming lessons happening so it was quite noisy and full use of the pool wasn't accessible. The steam room was also not available.

That sauna was not on each day,

We loved the beautiful country location. The spa facilities, really made us kick back and relax.

We were a little disappointed with the menu, and the fact there was no option of a small portion for older residents like myself

The hotel is in a beautiful country spot. The grounds are stunning. The spa facilities are fabulous, we loved the pool, sauna and steam room for ourselves

Great location! Lovely and quiet! Stayed previously quite a few years ago but sadly the place has gone downhill with little investment since. Great to have ground surrounding property for dogs, although paying £20 extra for a small dog in an already ‘pet friendly room’ not sure what we were paying extra for given housekeeping couldn’t be bothered to service our room one day! Took us three attempts in one day to get fresh towels from reception, not the best! Spa area was lovely if willing to accept a poorly maintained sauna (closed on our final day as was out of order!) male showers with shower curtains covered in black mould and dirty, changing rooms weren’t cleaned at all in the 3 nights we stayed there, great amount of dirt and hairs mounding up on the floors in the male changing rooms around the drains in the floors.

Hotel is very tired and sad looking. Had some issues during our stay and went home feeling like the staff didn’t really care or take our issues seriously. Room wasn’t very clean, just lots of things during our stay that wasn’t addressed. Lack of attention to detail and a feeling that staff didn’t really care about our concerns. Pillows in room are so old they had no support, so bedding wasn’t very comfortable, room wasn’t clean really even though we were paying extra to have a small dog with us, felt like we were forgotten about, cobwebs hanging from ceiling, lampshades and mirror behind desk. Shelves in room hadn’t been cleaned in a long while so a total lack of detail in our room. Just totally lacking any sort of nice touches! Basic level of cleanliness. The £20 dog charge is to cover additional cleaning of pet hair, but that’s seems to omit the need for a basic level of cleaning in the room for 2 paying adults. Breakfast was buffet style, food was mildly warm at best, generally a good selection but wasn’t anything wow!
