Here for 3 nights at the end of a 17 Day China tour with Saga. Disappointing hotel in many respects. Cigarette smoke smell in room. Smell of drains too. Bed very firm. Room furnishings in desperate need of replacement. Bathroom dated with tired and chipped fittings, shower clumsy to operate. Heating and air conditioning a challenge to operate successfully. The room lighting, especially in winter, is hopeless. Bar in Lobby freezing cold, sat wearing a coat. Alcohol very expensive. Saving grace, the pool table in bar provided plenty of fun, and staff were friendly (but spoke very little English).

Here are a few nice things about Hotel Nikko: close to the Beijing zoo and a beautiful park for running, walking, watching locals dance or do tai chi; the coffee bar in the lobby will make a delicious tea or coffee for you; the room has a window that opens, if you like to have fresh air on a nice day; there are usb plugs by the bed to charge your devices; there is a tub to take a bath. What makes the hotel average is it’s attention to detail and the quality of the rooms. The closet door didn’t work. The door in the bathroom was damaged, possibly by water. When we arrived, no one seemed interested in us. The staff was fairly aloof. They were the same checking out. No one asked us about our stay. They just wanted payment. If a welcoming environment doesn’t matter to you, this hotel would be fine.

Our first time in China, this was our first hotel on a guided 10 day whirlwind trip to 5 cities and 5 hotels. We stayed the most days in this hotel (3 nights) and it was by far...our least favorite. It wasn't bad, but the room smelled of cigarette smoke and the hotel was dated. One note that we had to learn about many of the hotels in China is that you have to use your room key to gain electricity in your room. You literally have to insert your room key into a slot upon entering your room..without doing this, you cannot turn on the lights or tv. The breakfast buffet was very good and the lobby was clean and inviting. This hotel wasn't necessarily near anything of interest but it didn't matter as we were too exhausted to do anything but hit the bed each evening and get up for breakfast...then we were off!

This is a good hotel. Room is large enough and in good care. The food is excellent. It located in a convenient place and easy to shopping place and other important areas. Hotel staff are polite and helpful. I like this hotel.

Me and delegation stayed at this hotel from the 26th until 30th August. Actually this hotel very comfortable, clean, located in the center of the city and reasonable price. But.. The customer service/cashier do not understand English, so for communication we have to rely on friend from the embassy. There are also cashier who understand English a little but happen to be serving other customer. It's OK.. As long as I still helped by a friend who understand Chinese language.

因班機延誤所以清晨才到酒店，櫃台植班人員態度極不耐煩，堅稱找不到我的訂房資料，要我自行和Hotel.com的客服核對訂房資訊，有失五星級酒店應有的服務態度！ 酒店設施老舊、健身房和游泳池沒有毛巾提供，房間設備也都很老舊，失望！

朝食付きのプランが安価で利用が出来ると嬉しい。

Stayed several times with good experiences. It’s location is good, with many restaurants, parks and Beijing Zoo across the street. Overall, it has maintained its Japanese quality of ambience and service. Rates are reasonable. One area can improve is the check in and check out. Sometime with long line and waiting. Need to speed it up.
