The Essex Resort & Spa

The decor and the room was super cozy. The beds were really, really comfortable. I always bring my own pillow. As someone who has a hard time sleeping in different locations, I did not toss and turn all night in my bed at the Essex. That was amazing! The bakery counter is open 24/7. We got some yummy treats which were perfect after a long day of travel. We were too tired to actually go to one of the restaurants. I loved the usb-integrated lamps and outlets and the wireless phone charger. It's always great to see those...and they were in working order! We were only there as a pit stop in our travels, but we made a note to stay there again and allowing more time to really experience the amenities the resort and spa offer.

Unfortunately, the showers did not heat up past "warm". My son took a shower at night and I took one in the morning. Both were warm enough that we weren't freezing but cold enough where we were not comfortable. Not sure what was happening there.

The Essex . The butternut squash gnocchi was out of the world superb. 5star easy . Thank you Leticia for your dining experience. Very good

The pool was beautiful and was excited to use it but it was to cold thought it would have been heated little disappointing.

From making reservations, to being seated and ordering the experience was excellent. Kimberly was a pure joy to talk with and very knowledgeable of the menu. Highly recommend this to everyone.

Hayleigh at The Tavern provided excellent, prompt service. She was very attentive without being overbearing, and her customer service really stood out. She kept a positive attitude throughout the entire visit and made the experience enjoyable. Definitely someone you want taking care of your table.

The breakfast at the Tavern is wonderful. We enjoy the outdoor jacuzzi with the lattes we get from the front desk- bakery. The location is very good - you can walk to a community trail and close to shopping and dining. The staff is very helpful and accomodating.

The Essex is a nice hotel but over the past year things have gone downhill. Last year the suite was filled with families breaking rules to which the front desk replied “there’s nothing we can do”. But that isn’t really on the staff: This year we were able to stay in the main building, but there were still some issues. First of all, housekeeping had not visited our room, which being Easter I can understand but the problem was that we didn’t have towels. We asked twice in a day and the next day when we asked for towels the front desk attendant told us she “didn’t remember us asking” and said that it was housekeeping’s responsibility. We had to use pool towels. Other than the experience with customer service it’s a nice hotel. The hot tub is very nice, the pool is heated, and everything is very clean. No awful smells or anything of that nature. They offer complementary tea, hot chocolate, and cookies every day. In terms of the rooms themselves some of the outlets our loose, our spigot in the shower was broken, but everything else was very nice. This was a really nice hotel a few years ago I think they just need to improve some parts of it.
