The air didn’t work well and we ended up switching rooms. The windows were very dirty. The rooftop bar was small, but the waiters were nice. The pool was one of the best features and so was the location.

Only stayed there one night to see Traverse City, but would not return! Very, very small, dark, damp rooms.

This property is centrally located to both the Leelenau and Mission wine trails. It is also walkable to downtown Traverse City. The beds were comfortable and the shower was good. Parking also free and convenient. The downside is parts of the hotel seem outdated and worn and could use some updating.

"Worst Service Ever"

2.0

We went to Traverse City for the Cherry Festival and to celebrate my birthday for 3 nights. I had researched hotels and picked Park Place for the location and loved the idea of a historical hotel. We paid over $400 a night and we were very disappointed in the entire experience. The service from the front desk and staff was the worst I think I've ever received. When we checked in - they advised me the room I choose wasn't available so they have to give me a smaller room and then move the next day. Not ideal but I understand this can happen. When we went up to the room - the keys we were given did not work. We went down 9 floors (in the single elevator) and got another set of keys - that again did not work. We went down a 3rd time and brought the front desk staff with us and her master key did not work. We were told the lock was broken and they would get us another room About an hour later, we were given keys to another room. My boyfriend had prepaid and arranged for champagne and chocolates and birthday banner - and none of it was there. When he complied they sent up a cheap bottle of wine, bag of chocolates and a hand written note on a piece of paper (not the message he asked for). The rooms are extremely outdated, our toliet seat was broken, we never got housekeeping (even when. we called and requested - I had to "steal" towels from the housekeeping cart). The lobby, bar, and restaurant is also dated and everything felt dirty. But the service was truly the worst (except the bartenders on rooftop) and made the experience so disappointing.

The property was lovely and the area was perfect. It was easily walkable the bathroom, however, was very tiny to the point where both my husband and I had to lean over the sink to open and close the bathroom door and the waitress at the hotel breakfast place was rude.

"A previously great hotel in need of updating its facilities and services."

2.0

We have stayed at the Park Place one or two times a year for the last 10 years and will not return. The hotel has steadily declined. Housekeeping is only available on request (and you need to know to request it ….. you aren’t asked at check in). This visit in June: it took four room keys to get two that worked, housekeeping consisted of changing towels and emptying wastebaskets (not making the bed or vacuuming), the towels were thin and dingy, bathroom amenities were skimpy, for men - the toilet seat had to be held up while using, the window ledge had insects on it, ice machines on our floor and the one below didn’t work, there were no cups for water in the fitness room, the elevator carpeting was worn and filthy. One positive comment: the food and service at Minerva’s for breakfast was excellent.

"Literal human feces on toilet"

2.0

Booked a king bay view room. When we arrived they put us in a handicapped room at the end of the hall. The bathroom was atrocious. There was either vomit or sh@$ crusted on the toilet on top of cauk / paint to cover the chunks and dents missing out of the toilet seat. When I went to the front desk and asked for a new room the front desk attendant just stared at me. Like for 5 mins just started at me until I asked to speak to a manager and then told me there was no manger and that the manager would email me. After 20 mins of awkward starting and her rude and inappropriate behavior we left. Still haven’t heard anything from management so I’m sure this will be a process getting our money back for a room that was literally covered in human feces

"Very Disappointed "

2.0

The rooms need to be updated and cleaned. Hair clogged the tub, I had to remove it, bathroom fan didn't work, beds were not the size indicated in the reservation, public restroom was a mess, and staff was not friendly. Location is great, walking distance from everything. But for the price the location is not worth the condition of the rooms.
