We celebrated our wedding reception at Simsbury 1820 House in 1990. After thirty-five years it is comforting to be able to return to the (Simsbury 1820) House to reminisce, experience the charm and beauty, and in some weird way, be brought to that weekend, when we had our wedding celebration with ninety of our closest family and life-long friends. Thank you to the staff at the Simsbury 1820 House for taking good care of this special place that has brought so much love and joy to our lives. Looking forward to our next visit.

Since we are getting up there in age, an elevator would be helpful, but not critical. We would just request a room in the first floor. 😁

De grote parkeerplaats bij het hotel Gratis glaasje wijn tussen 16-17 uur

De foto’s van het hotel komen niet overeen met de werkelijkheid. Ligt aan een drukke weg. Het hotel is/wordt slecht onderhouden: ramen kapot, houtwerk totaal verwaarloosd. Het hemelbed valt bijna uit elkaar als je er met z’n tweeën in ligt. Geen lift. Ruikt naar eten. Erg vies.

The hotel looks nice from the outside.

Lack of staff (no one to help with luggage or even a trolley-was traveling with a baby), poor facilities, bed was uncomfortable, only one night stand, old TV, poor lighting (only lamps-no main switch).

The house needs some TLC on exterior paint, cleaning or it won't stay in reasonable condition much longer. Mattress too soft and old as well.
