"Would not recommend"

I unfortunately cannot recommend The San Luis Resort for overnight stays prior to a cruise. While the rooms themselves were nice and had great views, our experience overall did not meet expectations given the price. During our stay, we encountered several issues. We had requested that our luggage be divided between two rooms, but all items were delivered to one room, and we needed to move them ourselves to another floor. At check-in, we were informed that a discounted rate could not be applied to one of the rooms due to hotel policy, despite the occupant qualifying. We were also charged a resort fee that included access to amenities such as the outdoor pool and lounge area, which were not available during our stay due to a private event, as well as Wi-Fi service that we experienced as intermittent. We requested a pack-and-play at check-in, but it was not delivered until several hours later and only after a follow-up call. Food pricing was also higher than expected. For example, we were charged $10 for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with fries for a child, which felt high for what was provided. At checkout, while managing luggage with toddlers and a disabled member of our party, we did not receive assistance from staff in transporting bags to the shuttle area. We had confirmed a cruise shuttle pickup time of 11:25 am at both check-in and check-out; however, by 11:45 am the shuttle had still not arrived, and it did not show up until closer to 12:00 pm despite multiple calls to the front desk. Finally, we were told that a manager would follow up regarding these concerns, but we did not receive a call. Given this experience, I also informed our travel agent so they are aware when making future recommendations. Based on our experience, we would choose to stay elsewhere in the future.

Everything was great except the bed.

The bed in room 1621 was very uncomfortable. My husband slept on the floor the 2nd night. The 3rd night we had a blow up mattress brought in. I had to make 3 calls to get the mattress. First call was the morning of our 2nd night. Finally got the bed at 9:30 that night. Loved the hotel but will probably not stay again due to the beds.

"Caleb- all star employee"

Caleb at the pool was an incredibly helpful employee. He was always moving around, making sure everyone had what they needed, and he did it with such a cheerful and positive attitude. He really went out of his way to make us feel like VIP guests, which made our stay so much more relaxing and enjoyable. He is definitely a valued employee, and we are very thankful for him on this trip. We will be back!

"Sweet San Luis, the best of Galveston!."

Great place! Our room was clean with a spectacular view. Club 10 is the way to go if you don't have young ones. The food was pretty darn good and how cool is it to swimming up to the bar where Zoe & Jayden greet you with a beautiful smile & a cocktail while you soak in comfy warm water! We will definitely be back!

"Excellent experience"

We’ve been staying at the resort me and my wife for business. Since the moment we walked in everyone has been so attentive and so welcoming! We sat at Lobby bar and Connor took great care of us, very knowledgeable, the supervisor Valerie was very friendly and checked up on us quite a bit. The food was delicious ! They made it an experience and will be back again next year!
