Haywood Park Hotel, an Ascend Collection Hotel

The location is spectacular and the price is decent compared to surrounding hotels. The bed and pillows are super comfortable and the room I had was HUGE.

No water bottle refilling stations or water bottles offered. Also the carpet in the 4th floor hallway a bit musty, and the hotel is a bit dated but that reflects the pricing.

Everything in walking distance.

TV situation could improve. Offer streaming over cable

wonderful friendly staff at front desk. The rooms are incredibly spacious. This hotel is located in the heart of downtown Asheville

The location was great, I was able to walk to just about anywhere in Asheville from there. The staff was very friendly and helpful, addressing any problems I had promptly while being very approachable. The bed and bathroom were in good condition, and I enjoyed the bathrobe provided. At other hotels I've stayed at they make it a big deal if the key cards are lost, but here the staff had no problem helping me out when I left them in my room accidentally or they were demagnetized.

Some of the equipment was a little old, and I wish I knew about paying for parking before I arrived.

Review has two parts - Negatives will apply to specific needs Positives - Very nice building - old department converted to Hotel about 40 years ago. Large room, two queen size beds, good size sitting area with couch , easy chair foot rest - could be separated from sleeping area by curtain. Large bathroom area - two parts - outer area with sink, vanity. Inner area - another sink, vanity, walk in shower plus full tub, commode - Even had TV across from commode? Great location. Nice sitting area each floor Negatives - No safety features - no guard bars in tub, shower or at commode. No non skid mat in tub or shower (standard low seat). Tech wise - Only two accessible electrical plugs - both on desk lamp. No USB Charging ports. Housekeeping - just new towels, take out garbage. Do not make beds (we were there 7 nights. If I had coffee and left dirty cup on desk it was not cleaned, changed. 4 floors- only one ice machine - at front desk - Have to ask clerk to get you ice. Not much in way of vending machines - bring what you need So for people with no balance, mobility needs it works. I brought a multi port USB hub which plugged into desk lamb so had "charging station". Don't know if they have any ADA supported units

First, front desk service was little to be desired. Room needed updating epecially in the bathroom. Rugs were dirty. The hotel breakfast served was horrible. There should be a law against serving powder eggs. Not a very welcoming experience. Will stay somewhere else next time. At least, where I can feel welcomed!

The room was wonderful. Lots of space, little kitchen area, beds were comfortable & pull out bed was perfect for us. It would have been nice to have bedding for the pull-out in the closet or something rather than having to ask for it.

The hotel has no bottled water for sale in the vending machines. We had to get bottled water outside the hotel. Not the biggest deal but not convenient either. It looked like there is a restaurant, but it didn't seem to be open (?)

Wonderful historic hotel located in a great location to experience Nashville. The property is beautifully restored. Rooms are large and very clean and well appointed. The staff is very helpful and responsive. We would stay there again without hesitation.
