Gooderson Dumazulu Lodge & Traditional Village

Breakfast was buffet, it was delicious, they offered a cultural event; visiting a nearby Zulu village, in which we learned about the culture, food, drinks, rituals and community.

Friendly staff, made a great effort to accommodate us. My wife and I have dietary restrictions and the lodge manager and chef made sure we did not go hungry. The location is quite easy to get to from the N2 freeway.

The bathrooms need urgent upgrades. They are old and disgusting. The walk to the restaurant for meals is scary. It has a squeaky wooden bridge. Not fun at night. More variety at the buffets for breakfast and supper. Only a few dishes per meal.

Rooms were clean and aircon was a plus. The Dining and Pub area was really nice and the food was value for money.

The biggest issue was trying to confirm my booking with the Lodge. There was no answer to the Lodge phone for days and your Durban Head Office was useless as they could not confirm the Booking. That was very frustrating and in the end it was your Marketing lady we got hold of on Instagram who helped. Your Lodge must have of lost a lot of last-minute bookings as you could not communicate with you Reception.

Staff friendly, clean

No soap, no shampoo, only one glass is accommodation for two, no teaspoon to make coffee. Door latches missing. Generally not up to up to Gooderson standards.

Very peaceful enjoy seeing birds and animals outside the hut.

Pool was not clean and parking area was abit far from the accommodation.
