The Newport Harbor Hotel & Marina

Stayed here for two nights after booking through Hotels.com using a $500 Hotels.com gift card provided by my company. At check-in, I was asked for my credit card for incidentals, which I understood. However, later that day I noticed a pending charge of over $600 on my card and went downstairs for clarification. The manager (Kim) responded somewhat rudely and told me it was only a temporary authorization and that would be removed after checkout. After my stay, a charge of approximately $550 fully posted to my card instead. I called the hotel and spoke with the same manager. During the call, I attempted to explain the situation but felt repeatedly interrupted. Eventually, the manager located the issue and stated that the charge had been removed, although I was told I would still be responsible for approximately $100 in processing or stay-related charges. To her credit, after expressing frustration for the inconvenience, I was offered for the fee to be waived as well. Another issue was housekeeping. I was informed that daily housekeeping would be provided during the stay, but my room was never serviced. When I contacted the front desk, I was told housekeeping had already left for the day and only fresh towels could be provided. When I brought this up during the phone call with the manager, I was again interrupted and asked whether I had left a “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door, which I had not. When I later attempted to escalate the billing and service concerns to upper management, the manager responded with “What did you say?” and abruptly disconnected the call. I called back seeking clarification and was then told by the manager that I had cursed at her. When I explained that I had not, I was told, “You already admitted earlier that you did.” I was then informed that I could contact the general manager on Monday before the call was disconnected again. To be fair, the location is excellent and the room itself was pleasant. However, for a stay costing around $600 for two nights, I expected clearer communication and a more professional customer service experience when trying to resolve billing concerns. ~Dante P. Great location steps from Bowen's Wharf and walkable to a ton of shopping & dining in the heart of Newport! Idyllic harbor views are worth the price. Only downside is a confusing parking lot that is public parking in addition to hotel guests, so can fill up at times.

We stayed one night and loved the location but the rooms were outdated and not that clean (clump of hair in the bathroom). Parking was charged outside of the ‘resort’ fees and never mentioned when quoted. Would not recommend- there are better hotels in Newport, that are less pricey with similar location.

The hotel was in a great location, and had a wonderful outdoor area on the water. My friends and I were able to enjoy sitting by the fire pit and walking out on the docks of the marina to enjoy our coffee. The indoor pool was warm and inviting. We had breakfast at Salt and the wait staff was excellent! I hope to go back.

The location couldn’t have been better—just steps away from the waterfront, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and the vibrant energy of the wharf. Morning walks along the harbor and sunset views over the water quickly became highlights of my stay. The hotel itself was immaculate and thoughtfully designed. My room was spacious, spotless, and tastefully decorated, with cozy touches that made it feel like a true retreat. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I slept better than I have in months. What truly set this place apart, though, was the staff. Every interaction was warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. They went out of their way to ensure every detail of my stay was perfect, offering great recommendations and always greeting me with a smile. Whether you’re visiting Newport for a romantic getaway, a relaxing escape, or just to explore the area, I can’t recommend this hotel enough. It exceeded my expectations in every way, and I’m already looking forward to returning.

The check in clerk was well above his job, Sebastian was courteous, helpful and very friendly.

The front staff was very welcoming and helpful especially when renting out the bicycles which was free and such a fun experience. The room was comfortable and the harbor view was magical.

I could hear the people talking from next room pretty loudly and the window in our room didn’t open.
