The Mission Inn Hotel and Spa

Amazing stay and even better valet service! The valet team was incredibly attentive and accommodating. They went above and beyond, offering us complimentary water in the hot sun and made the experience smooth from start to finish. I would recommend this hotel to anyone in the area. My family and I will definitely be back soon.

What an amazing property. My wife loves historic hotels and the history here is real -- we booked the Kelly and Duane Suite, complete with a large balcony and gas fireplace. Cool doesn't begin to describe it. Too bad the experience went sideways fast. No hot water. I'm serious. We got ready for dinner, went to the front desk, and were assured it would be fixed by the time we returned. We came back to warm water. We showered anyway and moved on. Next morning? Zero. Stone cold nothing. I went downstairs and asked to speak to a manager. The response: there is no manager on site. At a 238-room hotel. I was told he'd be in "around 9:30" and would call me. At 9:40 I went back down -- he was in his morning huddle. I asked the front desk agent to get him for five minutes. She texted him. He said ten minutes. He arrived twenty-five minutes later with zero sense of urgency. I told him about the hot water situation and said I just needed a guarantee we'd have it for our second night. His response: "I'll see what I can do." Hot water is now optional? I checked out. That was that. And then there's Bella Trattoria Italian Bistro. Same energy -- no urgency, no attentiveness. Pasta undercooked, sauces watery, and not a single visit to ask if we wanted more wine. Hands down the worst meal of our eight-day trip. One beautiful property. One blight on an otherwise outstanding five-hotel coastal road trip. Never again.

Beautiful unique property with lots of history. Every corner was a new area to be discovered and photo opp. Staff were great.

The staff was courteous and welcoming. The establishment was clean enjoyable to soak up the environment. Will return in a few months to check it out again.
