Clarion Inn Cleveland near University

When I booked this motel the pictures looked good. However the rooms were nothing like the pictures. Our first room was dirty, walls in bathroom were dirty, the caulk in the tub was black, the shower curtain was filthy. The whole bathroom smelled of pee. The tub was not suitable for elderly people. There was dead bugs on the floor. Asked for a different room and while it wasn't as dirty the bathroom smelled worse than the first room of pee. I would not recommend this motel unless some major renovations have been made.

We checked into the Clarion and checked out within 10 minutes. While the employees were nice, and the front office of the hotel landscaped…that’s the only positive I can say about this experience. The pool was covered in algae and horribly green. The bathroom in our room had black mold all around the tub and a puddle of water in the bottom of the tub. I would never have stepped in that tub to shower. The toilet was dirty and would not flush. I have never had an Expedia experience such as this. But the sad thing is…I could not talk to a soul about this hotel…subsequently, no refund has been issued. The tub was so dirty that I would never have put my feet in it for a shower. The toilet was dirty and would not flush.

The property is in a great location to food, shopping, and gas stations. Very convenient to the interstate too. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

Room 112 is VERY out dated. We stay at Clarion properties often when we travel. The paint job in the room was cheaply done and needs to be redone asap. You could see that two different blue paint choices were done on the walls and not even properly painted correctly. The room smelled moldy upon entry and lingered the entire stay. The chair in the corner was peeling and needs to be replaced. The titles for the room say DOUBLE BEDS but make sure you read that it’s two FULL size beds and NOT actual double beds. For a family of four that was very misleading. The room is still in need of a good remodel and deep cleaning. Overall, the room was clean however there are just worn areas that take away from the cleaning efforts made. Since we were just spending the night we opted out of using the shower due to the condition/aged look it had. There were NO bugs and the property itself was clean. If you are in need of a place to stay and don’t mind a worn possibly molded poorly remodeled room then you will be fine. If you are looking for something more this isn’t the place for you.
