SureStay by Best Western Charlotte Matthews

The staff here were nice, but the pictures look better than the facility itself. Once I arrived, the outside of the facility was very old and outdated, and once I got inside even more, so my room was clean, again. It just looked very old. I did not have any problems with staffing or anyone there as far as the ambience go. It just wasn’t up to my standards. I personally would not go back.

Property needs to be updated, properly maintained.

Really nice hotel actually! I wasn’t sure about the Independence Inn only because I haven’t heard of them and turns out they’ve taken over from Best Western about 2yrs ago but will be going back to Best Western according to the front desk. Either way, this property is actually really nice for what you pay for. The rooms were clean, beds nice and comfy, facilities around the property (fitness center, laundry ($2 each W&D) and common areas) and breakfast was good too! I want to give a specific shout out “Najaf” at the front desk. What a guy, he was super cool upon check-in and even as I went back out to grab a couple more bags after I checked in, he asked if I was alright when I walked past him at the front. That’s genuine service right there👏🏾. There’s a couple downsides however they aren’t that bad to be honest, but I’ll still add them in. Normal wear and tear in the room with the chair and drawer handle both broken & ripped. Not the end of the world. The last thing would be just to keep an eye on the pastries in the morning. I took one with me to work and when I went to eat it, it unfortunately had mold on the bottom😕. That can happen anywhere, to any place to be fair however just something for the folks to keep an eye on. Regardless though a pretty solid choice for a couple/few nights or even a week, I’d stay here a week for sure.

Our stay was so so...the toilet seat was wiggly, the bathroom door had one hinge, several issued keys had to be reset, noice in hallway at 1:30 AM and a girl showed up on our last day with a sheet wrapped around her to reception. She said all of her clothes were taken!!! I gave her some of mine. Other than that the young lady who works breakfast was excellent.

There was a stain on the sheet. The shower was broken. Our room was located next to outside stairs. People would go outside at all times and smoke weed and cigarettes then the smoke would fill our room.

Terrible customer service. Sheets were dirty room smelled shower was disgusting overall I felt uncomfortable to even be inside the room let alone sleep there
