Bournemouth Highcliff Marriott Hotel

We had a lovely time here in August for a short break away. We had a family room which was separate to the hotel. This was just across the car park, it would have been nice to have been in the main part of the hotel but it didn't affect us. The staff were lovely and very helpful, breakfast buffet was amazing. Our son thought this was the best thing ever having pancakes, a cooked breakfast, toast and anything he liked every morning. We particularly liked that there was a chef cooking omelet's to your liking in front of you. the beds were really comfy especially being 7/8 months pregnant so I was very happy.

A hotel like filter coffee. Boring and outdated. In the 4-star price range, a breakfast buffet without any coffee options like cappuccino or only available for an extra charge shows the quality and aim of the hotel: poor quality and not up to date, merely designed to squeeze money from the customers, I can't understand the justification for the extra cost of the breakfast buffet any other way. The same goes for the pool, which is even worse than filter coffee, just like parts of the building structure. Moreover, the restaurant is run externally, so there are no benefits for guests. -> There are many hotels in the area that are worth your money.

Stayed many times here over the years, good location with nice views from the bar, however when we visited the bar there were no staff around and I actually had to go and find one to get a drink ( and yes it was during bar opening hours) our room was nice it was one of the refurbished rooms , however the tv channels were worse than useless and not tuned in and as these are pull out tv,s from the wall …..piece of free advice for housekeeping….maybe clean and dust the back! It was disgusting! Did we enjoy our stay? Yes we did, would we book again? Probably, does the Highcliff need to improve ? Yes it does

The hotel is in a great location for the beach and a short walk into the town centre. Great (warm) outdoor pool. The rooms (not in the hotel, we were in a small apartment building near the outdoor pool area) are a little worn, some refurbishment would greatly improve.

Staff of reception not very authentic, restaurant breakfast staff grade. Bad breakfast, no love. Room was big, shower was recently refurbished but already had fungus. Amenities are oke but bot at the level it should be. Location is excellent.

Check out supposed to be at 12pm. We left our stuff inside the room, when got back at 11:30am the room was wiped. Our stuff wasn’t there.

Excellent service and cleanliness!

We thought it was fantastic, but the very bad experience by the staff during check out meant we sadly went home with a mixed experience (Kelli and Calum). Kelli seemed to not want to help us, whilst Calum, who we suspect was a manager, came across almost aggressive through his defensiveness. The parking is a nightmare here and the staff being inconsistent with what they say makes it very frustrating. Ultimately, if guests experience something wrong, then a simple but sincere apology and something to try and rectify things should really be done, rather than being defensive and argumentative. Marek, however, was absolutely fantastic, he consistently offered help, from bringing bags to our rooms, to getting ice and a fan for my room, as the air con was not working effectively. I would like to highlight that staff should not insinuate a guest is lying about a problem, in addition to blaming them for it not working properly. Yes the window was open when the maintenance person came in, but only because it was hot and the air con wasn’t blowing out cool air! Calum needs retraining in how he handles customer complaints. Otherwise we loved the hotel, the rooms were beautiful and amazing views, it is just a shame that this experience at the end ruined it.

Lovely 6 nights at the Marriott. Exceptional hotel. Could not fault it. Would return without hesitation
