Bournemouth Highcliff Marriott Hotel

The staff are brilliant, the room clean, and the food was good. However, the hotel looks very tired in places especially the pool which needs a refurbish. There are not enough parking spaces for guests, I had to pay £26 to park in a nearby public car park. For that reason alone I would not recommend.

It has to be the worse stay in a hotel in a long while and it wasn’t a cheap hotel! We arrived and drove around the hotel for a full hour as the carpark was full. Ended up in a multi story 10 mins walk away. When we arrived for check in we have to queue for 10 mins to check in. We’d booked a delux cottage room which we found could only be reached by walking through the carpark down an industrial carpark ramp. The outside door of the ‘cottage’ was scruffy and badly maintained along with the inner door to our room. When we opened the door there was a loud noise in the room which turned out to be a very old air conditioning unit. Not only was it unbearably noisy but it didn’t do the job intended and the room was boiling. There were no plugs sockets by the beds and only one socket that we had to share for charging. The bathroom was scruffy and in need of a paint and had a weird old fashioned shower curtain so made you feel like you were in student digs. No thought on furniture - the chair in front of the dressing table was too low to see yourself in the mirror when doing makeup. Breakfast was a disaster.Food was flat cold. Coffee and tea took 15 mins to arrive and when it did crockery dirty. No glasses for juice for the 40mins we were there. No side plates for toast so was eating toast from a saucer. No teaspoons so had the use a desert spoon. Loads of tables empty but dirty plates still sat on them. Staff were quite rude. It was a terrible experience from start to finish!

I was very excited at first to come to this hotel in bournemouth as i have heard great things about the Marriott chain, but i found the actual experience awful. The room was very bad, with poor design and a not working sink on the first day. The breakfast quality was extremely poor as I have never seen a hotel with no strawberry jam or more hot food options. There was also lots of bugs in our room on the second night, and it gave me a horrible itch. The quality of the beds were very mediocre and overall, it was a terrible and very disappointing experience. I have seen better holiday inns than this 5 stat hotel

We go put in the cottage’s away from the main hotel, I booked a room in the main hotel so not sure why we was in the cottage’s, it wasn’t great, not what was shown online, the breakfast was really good, best thing about the stay, then we was also charged £30 for parking, also they have taken £100 from my debit card for extra charges and all I had to pay is for the parking but the £70 has not been refunded to my account, good location but wouldn’t stay there again

I booked four rooms for a family celebration (my 70th) doing a recce first in April. I booked the restaurant for 5.00pm as we had young children attending (restaurant food and service were outstanding). Before booking the rooms I explained this and the importance of everything going smoothly as we were travelling a long way from various parts of the country and was told no problem at all. I also phoned a couple of times shortly beforehand as a gentle reminder. The day arrived and my first guests and I were given our rooms early, about 1pm which was lovely. Unfortunately the next two rooms were not ready until just before 5,00 pm with the reason given that they were very busy! So everything became a ridiculous rush. The next day we were offered 10% off each of the two rooms delayed, but this caused confusion with the bill and my being initially billed for 6 rooms! The hotel is well appointed and in a lovely spot and the glorious weather made it a good stay but I really couldn’t recommend it for a big event as the staff are so disorganised!

Stayed here for 2 nights. Reception staff were very friendly. We stayed in a family room with our 2 grandkids. Looked like the room had recently being rebursihed to a very high standard. Breakfast was OK. Could improve on the fruit selection with more fresh fruits.The quality of the sausage was very poor tho. The outside pool was very nice in a secluded part of the hotel with lovely views of the beach and with private gardens. Although the surrounding area of the pool could do with a update. Spectacular views from the hotel. 5 min walk to the beach and shops and restaurants.

We had a lovely 3 night stay overall the only minor complaint i can make is the hotel parking charge is high.
