Bournemouth Highcliff Marriott Hotel

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, the staff were very attentive and always happy to help, the bed was huge and one of the most comfortable I ever slept in! We paid extra for sea view and didn’t disappoint, it was absolutely stunning to just wake up to the sound of waves and nothing but sea in sight. The breakfast buffet was nice, and the outdoor pool area a lovely addition- I would definitely stay there again!

Amazing location in Bournemouth and I was delighted with my room (basic sea view) which was modern, well equipped (tea/coffee, drinks fridge and great toiletries). The bed was outstanding, and the a/c worked well. The common areas are lovely but a little soulless and echoey thanks to the flooring and basic furniture. Dinner at brasserie Blanc was surprisingly good for a chain and good value too. Breakfast was fine but I overheard grumbling about missing items (food and crockery) which I didn’t notice, but there was a large tour group just finishing in an adjacent room. I was able to park which was complementary with Bonvoy status. I was stressed given the comments I’d read but in the end there were a few spaces but I arrived early (2-30) anticipating problems. Parking elsewhere looks expensive.

Great location and room with friendly staff

Not up to Marriott standards in general but was told it has transferred ownership to some investment company. Parking charge was a surprise at £12 per night and the outside company handling the property often send fines when the payment has been made at reception. Breakfast not bad value at £24 per night per couple. Wouldn’t go again.

The staff were friendly and very accommodating and the pool area is just wonderful we loved our stay and we will be rebooking

I absolutely love this hotel and have stayed on a few other occasions. The location is unbeatable with sweeping views of the beach, and I love the decor of the hotel. It always feels luxurious and relaxing to me. Having said that, I think there are a few areas for improvement, although these would not detract from me staying again as overall it is a lovely place and well worth a visit. Pros We were lucky to stay on a lovely warm couple of days and made use of the heated outdoor pool. This was a real treat as obviously this isn't something that all hotels offer. There was plenty of room in the pool each day and enough sunbeds surrounding the pool for the guests outside. I love going for a refreshing warm swim in the fresh air and am a big fan of the pool! The location of this hotel is great , a short walk to Bournemouth gardens and beach. I would say that currently the beach lift is out of order. I went with my disabled dad on this trip, he is wheelchair bound and I was hoping to make use of the lift, be aware it is currently indefinitely out of service. This was a bit of a pain as we had to move the car to the multi storey next to the beach. Cons Breakfast wasn't good at all. Due to dad's disability we ordered room service for breakfast to make life easier. We got a full English and unfortunately it was all overcooked and not worth the £18 cost plus price of room service charge. This was disappointing and an area where the hotel could definitely improve. Room service Menu was quite limited. The only thing we fancied was the beef burger which I did enjoy when it arrived. Would be nice to have some simpler, less fussy food options. Parking Parking at this hotel is another big issue. There is a tiny car park on first come first served basis. The spaces are tight and for such a big hotel there is no where near enough parking for the capacity. You can ring ahead to reserve disabled spaces in the car park but again theres only a limited number of these. Overall, I am still a big fan of the marriott bournemouth and will definitely visit again. I didn't eat in the main restaurant on this trip, but have on previous occasions and the food was delicious! It's a shame the breakfast let's the side down but I'm sure this could be improved. Thank you for another lovely relaxing stay.

Really nice hotel in a great location. Staff friendly and helpful. Room was clean and good size. Breakfast was good but the service was slow and refilling of food was very slow. Seemed like they were understaffed for the number of guests.

Unfortunately having been a guest several years ago we found the hotel was certainly not of the same standard. The public areas looked tired and needed a refresh , the service in the bar and restaurant was slow when busy there didn’t seem to be enough staff! On the plus point the bedrooms had been renovated and were very good.

We stayed for one night, sofa bed not comfy and slept the whole night uncomfortable. We found used towels in the room and we put them outside near the door for collection. I am not sure what exactly happened on my booking because I understand I booked a family room including breakfast as I always book breakfast when travelling with children. To my surprise I was told there is no breakfast booked and the total amount for the room was different from what I booked. I had to pay for breakfast separately.
