Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort

Frühstück ist lausig - aber wohl typisch amerikanisch.

We just had a voucher because our plane leaving sent us there for the night and they charge us anyway even though our airlines paid for the room they charged our account not very accommodating. Everything looks nice, but I wouldn’t stay here very overrated.

Nice property! Clean rooms, welcome drink, free bikes, nice pool area with hot tub and bar, pool table, corn hole, etc. We wish the pool & bar area stayed open a bit later after exploring the island and dinner. We also did the luau on property. Fantastic! Nice to be at our hotel when that ended. Great spot! Highly recommended.

My wife and I had a solid three-night stay at the Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort. The hotel's grounds blew us away! We enjoyed the large hot tub and savored the ocean views while drinking wine in the fire pit area. Parking was ample and the employees were friendly. However, our ocean view double queen room disappointed us. Everything about the room felt outdated, especially the bathroom. The patio was very small; the two of us could barely fit. If we were to return to Kauai, we'd stay elsewhere.

Just checked in for our honeymoon and it's not a great start. Another honeymooning couple checked in at the same time we arrived, 1pm, and were given their room keys immediately. Because I had upgraded our room to an ocean view directly through their website within 24 hours of the original booking completed on 3/29, Tameil explained it had apparently "screwed up their system" so we were told we couldn't check in until 4pm. After waiting for 3 hours, we went back at 4pm to speak with Kama to find that our room was still not ready and there was no ETA of when it would be. Since he is so new and couldn't assist us, another woman joined in to "help" and blamed our upgrade on the issue. We clarified that the upgrade occurred over a month ago, to which she got defensive and repeated multiple times that she had just arrived to her shift. Considering we were quietly waiting (albeit in frustration), this felt quite aggressive and defensive. We were instructed to go wait over by some chairs while the issue was sorted out, but then the woman proceeded to shout questions across the lobby to us. I walked up again so she would lower her voice. After being asked which floor is preferred, we were handed room keys without any apology and told where the room was dismissively. We got to the room to find a piece of plastic hardware in the shower, but so far everything else seems alright, and the view is beautiful. Will update if we have a better experience, but honestly considering calling Bonvoy Rewards and switching hotels if this is how it's starting off. It looks like the front of the hotel may be under construction so really hoping that won't be a noisy factor. We've waited too long for this once in a lifetime trip and paid too much for it to be mediocre, which is what this hotel and service has been so far.

The Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort in Kapa’a was a great choice for staying on the east coast of Kauai while being walking distance from local businesses and still enjoying a resort feel. You are within easy walking distance to several local restaurants and the Coconut Marketplace, making it easy to grab a coffee, browse local boutiques, or find dinner without needing to drive. The property itself is beautiful, featuring a nice beach front perfect for long morning walks or watching the sunrise. The pool area is also incredibly relaxing, offering plenty of space to lounge with a bar area that is equipped with games, making it a great place to hang out with a cocktail after a day of exploring. The rooms themselves were very clean with plenty of room to relax without feeling cramped and hotel staff were very friendly.

This hotel was such a disappointing experience. We thought we were getting a higher quality place as the price reflected. Staff was friendly, food was very good, and the view was amazing. Unfortunately the room was filthy and everything was cheap. The plastic toilet seat broke twice while we were there and although replaced it was crooked. We were to get champagne in our room....screw top $5 junk. All the floors were slippery, the only microwave was next to the ice machine and it took twice as long to heat things up. The laundry room was pure filth and the washer was out of order our whole stay. We wanted to leave but the oceanfront was very nice. Will never visit or recommend this place. Please save your money!

This was, by far, the WORST Marriott property I've stayed at in Hawaii, and I'm including select service properties (e.g. Courtyard, Residence Inn, etc.). Keep in mind Sheraton Coconut Beach is (or claims to be) a full service premium resort. At checkin, they were handing out welcome drinks to guests waiting in the lobby. Everyone present was offered one - except for me. Their lobby is not huge, so I'm not sure if this was a deliberate snub or just laziness. Either way, it didn't make for a great first impression. Bonvoy T&Cs state that Platinum & up (which I am) are eligible for free upgrades; T&Cs define this as "suites, rooms with desirable views, rooms on high floors, corner rooms, rooms with special amenities or rooms on Executive Floors." They gave me Room 358 with a grand view overlooking the parking lot. While it's true the Bonvoy status benefit is subject to availability, there were many guests there that were not Platinum & up, yet they got better rooms than I did. Checkout was an extremely unpleasant experience. Marriott had sent me a gift card which I upon upon checkin; the FDA said she couldn't accept it and it had to be presented at checkout. When I checked out, a different FDA said she couldn't process it and a manager had to do it (this was never mentioned at checkin). When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told they weren't coming in until 3. The FDA asked me to email the front desk email address which I did THREE separate times, but the FDA kept saying she hadn't gotten it. I called the CEC while I was in their lobby; they contacted the hotel, then when they got back with me, told me there's zero reason for the FDA to not just punch in the numbers from the gift card, but whomever the CEC agent spoke with at the hotel refused to do it. After much back and forth, the FDA agreed to enter it in, with a manager doing the final approval later. I had mentioned my subpar experience to the FDA at checkout - it was clear she couldn't care less. She also stated the property is undergoing renovations - as of the time of this review, no mention of any renovations are on the property's website. I was traveling on a deeply discounted Kamaʻāina rate. I have a very strong feeling this is why I received one of their crappiest rooms, even though Kamaʻāina is a qualifying Bonvoy rate. I've booked Kamaʻāina rates on all 4 main islands, and people have warned me that many properties give Kamaʻāina the scraps after they've taken care of their guests paying BAR. I had never experienced that until my stay at Sheraton Coconut Beach.
