Econo Lodge Hornell

It was a decent place to stay and a clean basic motel. My room and the hallway was renovated with new paint and maintained landscaping. It is an older property but safe and clean. The staff was friendly but there was no daily housekeeping service. You have to go to the front office to ask for towels and toilet paper. There was a mini- fridge and microwave in the room. It can feel a bit isolated due to the decentralized motel design but I felt safe enough.

This was the worst place. It smelled like nasty cigarettes. The room was stuffy and the air conditioner did not work. There were dead bugs on the floor by the window. There was a hole in the wall. The bathroom light did not work and the electrical was exposed. Everything was dirty. Didn’t even looked like they ever cleaned. The wall paper was pealing off the walls. The flooring was missing by the bathroom. I couldn’t even stay there. I just left. No way could I have stayed in that filth!

The property was poorly maintained with remnants of mold covered up with paint, broken doorjams, and overall disrepair. it was the only room available other wise I would have stayed else where.

There was an unpleasant smell in the room like stale beer. The bath tube was very stained.

The staff were very helpful. They're renovating little by little.

We will never go back..started with false advertising ..shows pics of and says room has balcony..patio door was screwed shut,no handle,all flooring was filthy,no hot water..barely warm,dirty tub,faucet knobs,outlet didn’t work near bathroom to dry/style hair..uncovered exhaust squeezed so loud,one bed super hard other bed squishy,not real blankets on the full size bed not queen they’re thin like sheets had to use our own out of truck…said we get bagels etc for breakfast..nothing but a waffle and coffee with no lid so can’t travel with it.everything just felt filthy,stained curtains covering patio doors,people living there showing up to breakfast room in Jammie’s with no shoes…nothing good to say about trip except guy at check in was nice

First of all, since I arrived after dark, it was difficult to follow the roadway and find the hotel office. Upon entering my room, the first thing i noticed was the poor upkeep of the room. It has not been paintted in a very long time, the ttrack along the wall with electrical outlets waas broken and had sections missing. The top of the small room refrigerator was extremely warm to the touch and it actually froze the bottle of water I put in there. The arms of the chair in the room were covered with duck tape. There was dirt arounf the bed frame that I saw once I moved the pillows away from the "head board" that was attached to the wall. The faucet in the bath tub leaked continually and the exhauste fan covered was not properly installed leaving a lage opening for bugs to enter the room which they did. The bath tub was extremely dirty. Ths location, by far, was the worst Econo Lodge I have ever stayed at. I will NEVER stay at this location ever again. It was definitely not worth saving $30 per night. I did not feel safe or comfortble at this location at all.

The bad reviews don’t lie, although they may understate how poor this place is. From the space between the door and frame, the sticky floor, the hole in the bathroom wall, smelly water, strange smell of the entire room, horrible bed, and broken furniture do not stay here. Stay on the road. If heading west-make it to Olean. If heading east-try Corning. No price or discount will be worth it.

Good price, had everything we needed, staff was friendly and helpful. A nice simple motel experience.

I worked in the hotel industry for about 15 years and have stayed in numerous places. This was by far, the worst. To start with, in booking the room online, the rate went up three times, from what was supposed to be available. When complaining about this, one staff member admitted the system was dishonest. Upon checking in, I realized there was no telephone in the room. I was told they would try to change my room, but apparently all the available rooms did not have working phones. The room was filthy. The patio door was so dirty, I could not see the overgrown unkempt lawn outside. I cleaned the patio door glass myself, as well as much of the room, since it was so dirty. The furniture was in dis-repair, There were no baseboards on the walls, which emphasized the very shoddy workmanship of the place overall. Half the light bulbs were blown. There were electrical fire hazards. (I am a licensed electrician.) There were brown spots on the wall behind the toilet. The toilet leaked out the bottom. I found a mystery pill on the floor. There were various other defects (missing towel rack, unstable mini-fridge, VERY noisy A/C and more. The exterior of the building is littered with thousands of cigarette butts. The ice machine is about the size of a small microwave oven, located in the office, and empty. Staff offered no compensation, and the live-in manager was completely apathetic.
