Holiday Inn Express Lynchburg by IHG

First part of review is for hotel itself. The second is for the scanners that made it even worse. Room keys didn't work so I had to go all the way back to the desk with my luggage. There's a huge street light outside and no way to close out the light. I tried to move the curtain but it felt like it might break. The TVs are just cable, no access to streaming. When I left they said they couldn't print my receipt the computers were down. What got me into this was an unscrupulous online scam. I googled Lynchburg holiday Inn express. When I clicked on the link for their b page a box popped up that said book now. I called the number. They answered saying "reservation desk". When you hear that you assume it's the desk at the hotel. He was Indian so communication was bad, but their whole thing is that they act like they represent the hotel but they don't. Basically they charged me 20 bucks to book me at the highest possible rate. When you are talking to them though they don't say that. You think they are the hotel. I never would have caught on but I needed to switch out my credit card. When I talked to the hotel they said they couldn't do it because it was booked by a third party, which was news to me. I called reservation desk and they said their finance department would have to call me back. Of course they didn't. Reservation desk is a deceptive business that takes money for nothing. The hotel shouldn't allow this and they acted like they could care less that I got tricked. Hope I can get some proof of the transaction but they couldn't even print.

Needs to be revocated. Would not stay there again

It was not a good experience, not what we expected They were ants on the bed, and the breakfast was not good as they didn’t have to hot items due to the holiday which ruined our holiday.

Great place. Clean and friendly staff. Breakfast included. Great value. Would stay again.

Close to shopping. It was a stop over night to rest mid destination, so good to pick up a few things .

The cleaning or air freshening product scent was very strong. Not an offensive smell, just a bit much of it

Everything was fine. The hotel was close to our destination, and the room and breakfast were both very good.

I appreciate having the consistent standards of Holiday Inn Express when I travel: complimentary breakfast, fitness facility, convenient location, reasonably priced, and comfortable. This location is great for business and personal travel.
