The hotel is set in amazing grounds with very good facilities. The staff at the hotel are welcoming and very helpful to ensure your stay is memorable.

Very friendly staff and Roger who gave us advice on places to visit. We had a lovely room overlooking the beach and excellent breakfast.

After coming to Paignton many times on vacation,I always visit the Redcliffe Hotel at least twice for lunch,but on this occasion I must admit I was very disappointed,on previous visits the prawn/smoked salmon sandwiches were to die for and was reasonable priced for the surroundings,but this time I asked for the menu and was totally disappointed,whoever wrote that menu did not have any of the clientele in mind,it's expensive and totally random,who wants a steak costing £35 at lunch time. I did mention this to the barman who was very apologetic and did say a lot of people especially regulars have said the same thing. Also on walking up the drive the pot holes are really dangerous,and a couple of times nearly fell into one. Also one of my friends are disabled and there is no facilities for disabled people,poor show for a once highly renowned hotel. So I won't be going back,it's a real shame.

We recently stayed at this hotel on a family holiday. A very family friendly hotel. Very good food, we had breakfast, lunch and evening meal on several occasions and could not fault the variety and quality. Lots of history to explore and the finding of the stairs to the beach is great . Great pool, lots of parking. To top it, my parents recently enjoyed a birthday in the restaurant on our recommendation. Not only did they have a great meal, the hotel arranged for me to pay remotely for their meal adding to their birthday experience. Great, thank you.

I’ve been here before and thought it pretty ordinary but, having heard they’ve got a new chef, decided to return and … wow! I don’t think I can recall a restaurant turned around so quickly. An extraordinary meal - quality ingredients, superbly prepared, with lovely staff. Had three courses for just £32! To begin, 3 lamb Koftas on a light yoghurt, with a cherry tomato salad and delicate garnish. Really tasty - and could almost be a main. Very pretty presentation. Then a sirloin steak: ordered it blue, which isn’t to everyone’s taste, and it actually came out blue, but with a fine griddled crust - cooked at just the right temperature. Delicious chips - maybe treble cooked - but light and crispy. Again - well presented. And struggled to a dessert: a decadent, rich chocolate tart with clotted cream and raspberries. Really tasty and a must for chocolate lovers. Had the NZ sav blanc and a glass of Rioja on the side; both were brilliant and so well priced. Beautiful views of Torbay and served in their rather fine Victorian/Edwardian little dining room, which is by far the best bit of the hotel. I can’t imagine finding a better value meal in Torbay. I mean, you could pay £20-25 for the steak alone. When you think this works out at about £10 a course… To give a sense of the improvement, back in June I was here - the bread roll was just a supermarket white bun and stock butter. Now? Fresh bread from a local bakery with farmhouse butter. Get here fast, because I can’t imagine this staying at 3-courses for £32 for long. Best bargain in the bay!

The redcliffe hotel, paignton is in a lovely location, the room was good with a lovely view, the staff are all very friendly and helpful, we had a good breakfast and nice meals in the bar

Welcoming staff, lovely views, comfortable room, excellent facilities and scrummy breakfast. What's not to like?
