Stayed 5 nights in a king jr suite. It was large and well laid out. Very comfortable bed, and the room had a nice view towards the water. Wifi was fast and free. The bathroom was a good size with a walk in shower with good water pressure. Breakfast was ok with a reasonable selection available. Dinner in the restaurant was very good, and the staff were all fantastic. I loved the location, as it was within a 5 minute walk to Union station. There are plenty of good food options close by, and a great coffee shop located next door. I would definitely stay here again.

I try to stay here every time I come to Toronto, definitely one of the nicest hotels in the city. Want to highlight the excellent service from Victoria in housekeeping; she got me some extra towels and bottled water for the room, and we had a short pleasant chat about all there is to do within walking distance of the hotel.

Locale & comfy beds

Price differential from purchase to arrival— $200 can and the solution to address it was inefficient at 10 pm. We were disappointed— and we had a great time. Breakfast buffet and restaurant staff were great. Thank for asking.

Quality stuff everywhere, very spacious rooms, peaceful and quiet inside

We chose the Intercontinental Toronto Centre primarily to make use of IHG points, and the hotel's location proved to be one of its strongest assets. Our Junior Suite on the 25th floor offered a comfortable king-size bed, a separate lounge area, and impressive eastward views across the city, including Union Station. It was a genuinely pleasant room. However, a number of issues throughout our 10-night stay left us feeling that the hotel's service and policies fell short of what is expected at this level — particularly as an IHG Ambassador member. Location & getting around The hotel's position is genuinely excellent. The CN Tower, Rogers Centre, and Nathan Phillips Square (home to the iconic Toronto sign) are all easily walkable. For Uber, a handy tip: use the rear entrance for destinations to the west, and the front entrance for those to the east — it saves time and avoids confusion. We walked for most of our trip and found the location could not be faulted. Hidden amenity fee — watch out A $25 CAD daily amenity fee (plus tax) was added to our bill without any mention at check-in. We only discovered it on day three. The fee covers Wi-Fi, two arrival water bottles, and pool access — benefits we already receive as IHG Ambassador members. After speaking with the manager, they agreed to remove the charge entirely, but only after we pushed back firmly. Had we not noticed, we would have been billed for three days unnecessarily. This should be declared transparently at check-in — not left for guests to find on their bill. Club lounge — not worth the premium The club lounge is located on the 8th floor. Breakfast is more limited than the main Azure restaurant, though it is considerably quieter. Evening canapés run from 5–7pm, and there is an honesty bar available throughout the day — an unusual concept we hadn't encountered in a hotel lounge before. However, at a discounted rate of $120 CAD plus tax per night for access, we would not consider it worth the cost. Pool — pleasant but minor oversights The pool on the 3rd floor was rarely busy during our stay — on most of our five visits, we had it to ourselves. The large jacuzzi comfortably seats eight people. One tip: staff do not automatically provide you with a locker key, so you'll need to ask at the spa reception before heading poolside. We also noticed that staff showing guests around the pool area were not wearing protective shoe covers, which raised a minor hygiene concern. Concierge — knowledge left something to be desired When I asked the concierge for the nearest newsstand to buy magazines, she directed me to the hotel's gift shop in the lower lobby. When I arrived, the shop was closed. Returning to ask what time it opened, she said 9am. When I went back later in the day, staff confirmed they had never stocked magazines. I eventually found what I needed at a nearby pharmacy. For a hotel of this calibre, guests should be able to rely on their concierge for accurate, up-to-date local knowledge. Summary The Intercontinental Toronto Centre has a great room product and an unbeatable location, but service consistency and transparency around fees need significant improvement. Really felt that this hotel was a 3 star hotel and not a 5 star hotel, as I witness several things that I have never ever seen at a 5 star hotel, which was shocking…
