Oaks Wellington Hotel

I love inner city Wellington, This hotel is so close to so much and only short walks from a lot of other things. Busses right outside the door. I had a great view over the harbour and the room had everything I needed. This is the 4th time I've stayed with you.

Your car park really gives me the heebeegeebees, but that's Wellington for you. I really think that a meal should come with veggies or side salad as standard, they shouldn't be extra.

Great comfy bed, big room, breakfast was excellent. Staff were great - especially Lachlan who checked us in, and the other staff we encountered - the maids and at breakfast and checkout. We had a no window room, which was fine. It was superdark at night and we slept so well. The shower was excellent!

There was a bit of noise from the hallway (but I'm really searching for things to mention!)

The chrome cast wasn’t working.

The convenience of the location to our visit was great. Cuba Street is a literal 2 min walk. The staff were efficient and polite and responded quickly with requests to have the double beds in both rooms. A TV that allows casting was fantastic. The wifi was responsive and quick. The beds had the best pillows because they weren't just fluffy cheap things

Unfortunately that convenience came with unsavory characters outside that accosted us every time we exited the building. Security was gone by the time we returned but they were lovely and very helpful. It would be nice if a smokers area on site was available. My room had a large water stain on the roof and the shower needed a clean. The aircon panel was hard to find in my travel companions room as it was in the closet. There was no extractor fan in either of the rooms bathrooms. I would have loved it if the bar on-site was open late on Saturdays, we aren't a young group so would have loved a place to enjoy a quiet drink, by the time we returned from a show at the opera house it had closed.

Smack bang right in the city which i love made going out easy as i didn't have to travel far cause the clubs were right outside, the beds amazing overall a good stay

The amount of homeless people outside is crazy but that isn't on the hotel just watch out and ignore the people
