Our room was fantastic. Comfortable, beautiful and the view was breathtaking!

The Fish House was not comparible to the rooms. We had to wait 15 min for a waitress, then had to ask for our table to be cleaned, and then the food was not great.

Stay overnight the bed was terrible! Felt like springs on your back! I tried to look at mattress but it had so many layers you can't get to mattress to see what it looks like. Very hard to begin with but felt like actual springs l could feel. Hard as Also , in bathroom door paint is gone all over door. The shower was so slick it scared me and no bath mat for old tub. The shower had no liner and just one door that was not stationary. So it opens? Strange! Made it had not to get water on floor so had to use towels for that. I have stayed at the next door hotel that is owned by same company and it is nice but this one never again!

My husband and I checked into the Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina hotel and went up to our room on the second floor in the Marina section. We immediately noted that the hallway had a sewage smell. When we entered our room, it did not have the sewage smell in it so we tried to ignore the smell in the hallway. My husband noticed that our room wasn’t cool so he tried lowering the air conditioning. I wanted to wash my hands, but the bathroom had no soap, so I had to go find a housekeeping cart to get soap. I did see there were holes in the bathroom wall where I assume a soap dispenser was supposed to be. We basically unpacked our luggage and left to join a tour group in Downtown Charleston. Upon our return that night, we still noted that the air conditioning was not cooling the room! The room was luke warm! We wanted to take showers, but we noted that the shower lever button was difficult to adjust and that the shower water was only coming out as VERY HOT water! There was no way I could shower in that! After looking around the room some more, I noted that the floors in the room and bathroom were dirty! I did not want to walk around without flip flops. We also noted a couple plugs for the phone chargers didn’t work! The room was terrible! That night, I had to go down to the front desk and get our room changed. They claimed the hotel was fully booked, but managed to change our room to a room above the garbage dumpsters which we did not know until the next morning. Then, on Wednesday morning, we awoke to the banging and slamming of garbage pick-up! At least the air conditioning was cooling in our new room. Now let’s discuss the pool situation. The resort does have nice pools. However, the towel return situation is a complete SCAM! The hotel tried to charge us for 3 unreturned towels at $25 each! We had followed the towel machine directions and returned every towel we used, but they still tried to ding us for unreturned towels! After disputing at the front desk, they took the towel charges off our final bill. I heard other hotel guest complaining about towel charges as well! Don’t stay here!!! Our rooms were in poor condition! The place is run down, smelly, needs upgrades, housekeeping training and better management!

I stayed at this hotel for a wedding in February 2026. The higher priced room we took was clean and beautiful, the pool area, beach and location were well maintained and had a great nautical theme. The only problem was we never had any hot water, the water was freezing cold and to shower for a wedding was impossible. Of course when the maintenance man came up, it worked, but when we turned it on after he left, there was no hot water. Multiple times we went to the front desk to let them know. When we checked out, we were told we would get a call because we deserve a partial refund. (Not my idea, theirs!!) It is now June, and I have been calling and leaving messages for months for a partial refund and have not received any return calls or emails or contact. For the expensive priced room we paid, I could have stayed elsewhere for less and at least been able to shower.

Fantastic location by the water with its own beach. Attractive decor. Very nautical. Good air con. Spacious bedroom. Great view from our room. Friday night entertainment was free and was excellent with a live band playing on the beach.

Good spot in MountPleasant across the harbor from Charleston. Water taxis available. Nice clean rooms with a great view. Nice pool.
