Hyatt Place San Carlos

As a Hyatt Globalist member, I stay at a wide range of Hyatt properties, and Hyatt Place San Carlos continues to be my preferred choice whenever I travel to the San Francisco area. The location is extremely convenient, close enough to SFO for easy airport access, and well positioned for trips into downtown San Francisco. It strikes a great balance between accessibility and comfort. The property is consistently very clean and quiet, which I truly value. From the guest rooms to the lobby and even the public restrooms, everything smells fresh and well maintained. That attention to detail makes a noticeable difference. The breakfast area is not very large, but it is always clean and well organized, and the food quality is excellent. The gym is also clean and well equipped — perfectly adequate for a solid workout while traveling. They also offer EV charging on property. While the pricing may be slightly higher than some public charging stations, the convenience of charging your vehicle overnight while you sleep is truly priceless. For business travelers especially, that level of convenience adds tremendous value. As I approach Lifetime Globalist status, I find myself less focused on large, high-profile branded properties and more drawn to cozy, quiet hotels that simply deliver a consistently comfortable experience. For me, Hyatt Place San Carlos always meets that expectation. Whenever I visit San Francisco, this remains my go-to property. Danny Lee

One of the best experiences with service I’ve had in a long time. Every staff member I met was helpful, friendly and went above to see if I had any current needs. I checked in and out at odd times and was smooth each time. Front desk staff was accommodating with any questions I had. I ate dinner in the attached restaurant and the service again was top notch, the server/bartender was extremely friendly and went above to chat with me while I traveled solo. The offerings were basic but the prices fit the bill and was fast in/out when needed. The highlight of this place for me was the breakfast- fresh, stocked beautifully and attendant was on hand to assist. This was a meal I’d have gladly paid for. Rooms were clean, even smelled particularly lovely. The outdoor area is nothing to write home about but there is a concentric parking garage. I wouldn’t stay if you’re looking for a view but for my needs it served the purpose. This is one of the best value for cost Hyatts I’ve stayed at.

It was a very nice place. Really recommend! We will again stay there if you visit the Bay area again!

Very clean, felt safe, continental breakfast was great!

The blankets are not comfortable and are very thin. Please consider mattress protectors and not just a sheet. When I asked for two additional blankets we were offered two very thin throws, so I asked for the comforters instead and the front desk man told me no. He also failed to let me wait for the throws and wanted to send a man housekeeper up to my room to give them to me. I refused as I was not comfortable and ended up not getting the blankets after all.

Location was very good, and breakfast was excellent.

The attitude of the employee at the main lobby. Not friendly at all! When my wife and I reached the desk at the main lobby, the employee failed to greet us with a smile and maybe a "welcome to the Hyatt". Instead, he proceeded to ask for my I.D. and a credit card. When I inquired about the credit card (it was already paid for) he kind of raised his voice and informed me that it was a $200.00 deposit for incidentals. I then asked for my early checking; we had requested an early checking of 2PM since we were there for a family reunion, we were running a little late and arrived at the hotel at 2:40PM. He said the room was not ready, and that there was no guarantee for an early checking. He made us wait until 3PM on the dot to give us a key. I believe he had an attitude and, had already decided he was going to make us wait until 3PM. Other than that, the stay was fine.

Breakfast.

$15.00 per night for parking is ridiculous. Televisions lag behind in voice and you need to change the channel to sync it back up and the reception always has a lot of interference.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. We appreciated their assistance.

The rooms were so clean and nice. The staff was wonderful and breakfast was delicious! Plenty of parking. Overall, it was a great place to stay and I would absolutely stay again.

The people next to us came in after 11 pm and were extremely loud and obnoxious. Finally settled down around 1230 so I didn't need to call staff. Not a problem with the hotel itself though.
