There were no doormen to assist with luggage. Visitors had to move their own luggage to and from the room. There was no restaurant to order dinner. The hotel sold bergers, and pepperoni pizza . They had a candy/snack sale area. The room was overpriced.....

The front desk team was exceptional, consistently warm, genuinely welcoming, and always eager to assist every guest with a high level of attentiveness.

I stayed here this time for a week before a cruise, and even though most of my business during the week was on the other side of the city, I preferred to stay here. I have stayed at this hotel several times and always find it to be clean, well maintained and the staff are wonderful. The rooms are very large, well appointed, brand new really because the hotel was completely renovated a few months ago. The location is excellent, with dozens of restaurants, shops banks Etc within easy walking distance and it's a very pleasant, safe area.

Stayed one night before a cruise and it was good. We arrived about 5pm and it was an easy check in but you could tell it was crowded. The lobby area is small and can fill up quickly. The rooms are nice the one we had was newly remodeled. We did need some sheets for the pull out bed and they were very fast with getting the sheets. We did not attempt breakfast since it was crowded but it was spring break and cruises were leaving that day. We slept well and went to the cruise the next morning.

After a long day of flying across country, arrived to a very rainy Hyatt Place. The recent renovations should have addressed the front entry/check in area which is small, crowded and chaotic. It was like they weren't expecting such a large group of people checking in (not sure why since it was peak cruise season). The front area was wet, slick and unsafe. The front desk had a line, both to check in and answer questions. We were given a room at the end of the first floor next to a door leading outside, facing the front of the facility, where lights came into the room all night, the window coverings not sufficient. I booked this hotel months and months ago. The room is oddly designed, the bathroom is the worst, a small sink area, then a toilet and shower in a room with a door that you cannot close unless you step behind it. The lighting is poor in the room and it was not very clean. Since the rain did not let up, we decided to get a few drinks and some food in the area for food/drink service, also very small. The only employee at this point was Jessica M. who provided excellent service above and beyond capabilities for only one person, manning both the front desk, food and beverage service and doing general clean up. She is the only employee that I observed doing her job and keeping a happy attitude at the same time. Shame on you for not having more employees during this peak time. The food and beverages are not free by the way, you purchase what you order. But the most shocking and disturbing was the shuttle to the cruise port that we booked upon arrival. Appears this is an independent company that the hotel uses for transportation to the cruise ports. We went down to meet the shuttle at the appointed time and were placed on a van with several other couples. One employee placed the luggage inside, the other was the driver who announced, "it's $10 per person not including tips." Seriously? Who says that. We gave her the cash and a tip, although she wasn't the best driver, got lost and could not locate the pier we needed, even though we were the only cruise ship in port. We expected the fee and was going to give her a tip, but she practically asked for it. Professionalism is apparently not a requirement at this Hyatt. Keep Jessica, give her a raise and get rid of everyone else.
