Hyatt Place Albuquerque Uptown

The hotel appeared to be in a very nice area of town. Parking was easy and it felt safe. My two main complaints were that the bed was sagging. I expected better from a hotel like this. The Wi-Fi was quite slow, which made me switched to my cellular network for the majority of the day. I know it’s new with many Hyatt places, but I do not appreciate them only giving free breakfast too certain member classes (I.e. discoverist, explorerist, and globalist).

Normally my stays at Hyatt Place hotels are very good. However, this stay had a few issues that really impacted our stay. Upon entering the room, I found two cockroaches, one in the desk area and another one in the bathroom. That evening the fan on the AC unit started making a loud noise that continued the entire night. To make matters worse, at five am, an alarm went off on one of the service doors that woke up my entire family. Not a good experience.

Great hotel and wonderful staff. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff is outstanding, we were in town for a hockey tournament and they were wonderful with the kids and very understanding that they are kids. Let us have a conference room so the kids could play some place and even made them all Halloween bags. Would highly recommend.

Front desk staff was polite. Room was not configured well at all. The tv was on a wall that you couldn’t see fully from the bed or the living room area. The worst was the bed bugs! Someone reported the same thing in September and they still had them. Even though they said all the rooms were non smoking, ours reeked of cigarettes the moment we walked in. Upon check out, we told them about the smoke and bed bugs and they really didn’t care. No apologies and no discounts!

Clean and quiet with cheerful service

The cleaning of our room needed to be improved. Not up to Hyatt brand expectations. It was dusty and needed to be vacuumed better.

When I booked the hotel. I didn’t realize that it was during the balloon festival so I thought it would be a mob scene and somewhat uncomfortable at the hotel. It turned out that the hotel exceeded my expectations with the kindness of their staff and the cleanliness of the hotel. Everything couldn’t be better organized there. Customer service is excellent.
