Shell Island Resort - All Oceanfront Suites

I liked that the view was beautiful and the amenities in the room. The staff was friendly.

I didn’t realize how far out it was from the main street. Property was located at the end of the street and we had to drive a lot to get to the places we wanted to go to. Also, the interior was a little outdated but still comfortable.

The suite layout of the rooms is impressive and offers lots of space with two separate bathroom facilities, a lounge, a balcony and a good-sized bedroom. The overall feel of the rooms is "jaded" and in need of refurbishment; the plumbing weeps, the cupboard doors no longer fit, the electric sockets are loose and randomly installed, and yet with a few hours maintenance, each of these things could be addressed and change the impression of the hotel immeasurably. Nevertheless, a good time was had by all and the pools are excellent.

Shell Island Resort is the best location on Wrightsville Beach. All rooms are ocean view and most have sound views. It is a quiet location at the end of the island. It has been one of my favorite places to stay over many years. However, the facility had declined, but that was much improved since my last stay in October. They have made many new updates to lighten up the area, with new poolside chairs and new furniture in the lobby. I was well pleased. We did rent a premium king room and it was very nice with fresh paint, new furniture, and updated kitchenette. We had a wonderful visit and I look forward to returning soon.

Better sheets. Our sheets kept coming off the bed during the night.

Location and excellent views of beach and ocean.

Sofa in living room of 904 should be junked. Very old, very dirty, zero support from seat cushions. It opens to a sofabed that is thin, squeaky, and a back killer. King mattress in bedroom not much better. Otherwise the room is okay

The location is fabulous and I loved the suite we stayed in. It was comfortable and nicely decorated.

The fitness center is the worst I have ever seen at a hotel. The equipment is old and/or broken and most of the free weights are missing. The room is dingy and depressing. This is such a beautiful hotel, I would love to see the fitness center reflect that.

We have stayed at Shell Island a few times. Coffee in the morning is important to me. I discovered that the coffee maker wouldnt work. After troubleshooting I found the coffee maker had not been cleaned for a long long time. Debris and mold clogged the coffee maker. This is a health concern.

Great location! At the end of the street. Lots of Beach ! Oceanfront, comfortable room. Great bed. Bath & a half .Staff are friendly & helpful.This was like our 5th time staying here
