The hotel itself was very nice. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The location was amazing. Great views of the ocean and easy access to the beach.

Our primary disappointment was with the room itself. One the positive side, the bed was comfortable and the balcony view was great. Aside from that, everything else was minimally acceptable. One burner on the stovetop did not work. A very nice maintenance team responded and attempted to replace the burner but that did not resolve the issue. Fortunately the other burner did work so we were able to cook our meals. The collection of pots, pans and utensils were very cheap quality and mismatched. The coffee maker provided is very cheap and coffee grounds would spill into the carafe anytime we attempted to brew more than half a pot. No sponge or dish rack was provided for us to wash our dishes during our stay. We made due with a washcloth and hand towel from the bathroom. Knowing that the property is older, we had specifically booked the highest level king room which is described to be have been fully updated. This is why it was very disappointing to still have the room equipped so cheaply when we paid a premium rate. The fitness center was barely usable. There is one cable machine with various attachments and 2 pieces of cardio equipment. The free weights were either very light or only had one available, not a pair. We were able to creatively get a workout done and realize that this is not a primary focus for most visitors. It shows that the hotel also believes this facility is an afterthought.

There were no coffees tea or waters in the room It was impossible to turn the air-conditioning down so was uncomfortable to warm in the night

There was a giant puddle of water that led to our door and the people were reving their engines at 11pm in the parking garage and being really loud

The BED…way to firm. The Holiday Inns pillow top beds are much more comfortable.

I gave the resort a 4 star rating because the overall experience was wonderful - beach front views at the end of Wrightsville Beach, without the crowds. The hotel was busy, but our room was very quiet. Our kingsize bed was extremely comfortable. Don't sweat over the small stuff - in our room, there were many imperfections of kitchenette cabinet doors not closing completely, missing artwork with hanging hardware still on the wall. The front desk staff were not warm and friendly.

The location was excellent. The beach was clean and private. You had two pools one inside and one outside. The pools were well kept. There was a garage for parking your car. The staff working front desk were very personable and informative. You had ocean views and balcony to enjoy the sunrise and ocean. The rooms had a kitchen, small dining area, sitting area. You had a large connecting bathroom to the bedroom, which accommodated two people at same time. If someone taking a shower, it had two toilets separated by door so you weren't waiting on someone using the shower.if you had to use toilet. You had to drive off property for food, so bring your own food for cooking or snacking.

Since we were visiting in the beginning of May the restaurant and pool bar was not open. There was a small snack shop near front desk, which was not stocked well.

Great location and the room layout was very good.

Furniture in the suite was very dated. The sleeper sofa in the sitting room was so old and uncomfortable that we could not sit on it. The room also smelled of stale smoke, possibly in the air conditioning vents from days of old.
