Had an unfortunate stay at the Centara Riverside Chiang Mai which we were quite saddened by as the Centara in Udon Thani and the Centra by Centara in Mae Sot were fantastic hotels. To start with the check in was a little bit awkward but we just thought the staff were having a difficult day as it was almost New years eve. Anyway, we continued to our room, a junior suite, and settled in. Had a good night sleep, got up and went to breakfast, unfortunately the breakfast here is terrible and everyday it just got worse, food is very cold and pastry quite stale, coffee machines broken and a very average selection for a luxury hotel. The only saving grace was the staff member who was cooking the omelettes, he's a bloody legend as it was the only food that was not ice cold. In my opinion you should make him the restaurant manager, hes the only one actually making the place better. As the days went on it was apparent that the a/c in our room was completely broken and just blowing hot air non stop, call guest services and they said they would send a technician straight up, waited 15 min and left without seeing him, thankfully it was sorted by the last night of our stay. The other staff worth mentioning were the housekeeping on our floor (7th) and also the car park staff and bell boys, they were all great! Wont be coming back to Centara Riverside Chiang Mai in a hurry as im sure there are other good hotels to choose from in CM. Please try to improve
