It’s probably the top three most beautiful hotels I’ve ever been to, but why does it need to be so expensive?? The attached cafe bistro is also cute and centrally located! The spa was underwhelming considering other hotels in the area have much better onsens

A beautiful hotel and perfect location to the area. The staff is wonderful. The only downside is there isn't a pool on this property.

As a Globalist, I've stayed at many Hyatt resorts and hotels, and this one will top them all. Very personalized service by the staff. Location is the best in Kyoto; very picturesque Higashiyama district location cannot be beaten by any hotels in the city. Breakfast staff knew who we were by our names and remembered our preferences and any dietary restrictions. The room was very nice and the views were impeccable. The breakfast restaurant was small, but the food quality was simply outstanding. If I ever go to Kyoto again, I will always stay in this hotel. Uber rides were readily available from here, even late at night, and not that expensive to most of the main tourist or shopping areas.
