Park Hyatt Kyoto

Almost perfect location. Great 5 star hotel. Must stay location if budget allows. However in terms of value probably can get a smiliar experience for the less elsewhere.

The hotel is in excellent condition. Everything was kept clean and the staff were very welcoming and attentive. View while walking through the hallway was spectacular especially during sunset. The location is close to many famous landmarks. However, train stations require either a taxi ride or a long walk

Location was the best. Beds were very good, had one of the best sleep in along while. Staff were extremely attentive.

A bit expensive for what you're getting. Food certainly could have been better. In terms of food presentation wise it was definitely good. However when it comes to taste wise, probably the taste of the food was catered more towards an international community and probably wasnt reflective of what japanese food could have been. A solid 7.5/10 for food.

I’ve stayed at some of the best hotels, worldwide, but this one ranks among the best of the best. From the minute, you step out of the car, you know that you’re in for a special treat. The service is absolutely impeccable and the hotel is stunning. The rooms are gorgeous! The breakfast, free to Globalists, was varied and delicious! Our only regret with this hotel was that first day was so short. This hotel is a once in a lifetime experience! Highly, highly recommended!

Everything I read about this hotel was true and more! We enjoyed our 5 nights stay here. Breakfast could’ve used more variety but otherwise delicious. The standard room was bigger than I expected for Japan, I loved the bathtub and the bath salts made available daily. My kids loved their welcome shiba stuffy and hugged it to sleep every night. The staff were all wonderful we have no complaints there. Overall I can’t wait to be back!

We were greeted by Yun. From the very start her smile and warmth made us feel so very welcome. We arrived before standard check-in time. We were seated in the lovely lobby area and were brought welcome drinks. Yun informed us that our room was not going to be ready for a bit (which was understandable). It hadn't been more than 10 minutes when she came back by us and let us know our room was ready. She walked us to our room and inside waiting for us a was personalized cake and grapes for our anniversary! And the room..it must have been an upgrade because we were on the 7th floor with an amazing Pagoda view. The Room was stunning, we are Globalists, but we did not expect to be upgraded to that type of room. We LOVED it! Thank you! After enjoying our snacks we took a couple hour walk through the shopping area near the Park Hyatt and then returned back again to be greeted by many smiles from the outdoor entrance and the reception desk. We used the Wellness Center bath house and throughly enjoyed ourselves. Then came our evening adventures. We were not aware that we had to make reservation far in advanced for both restaurants and the Kohoku bar. Someone pulled some strings because we were at the bar at Sunset and then had dinner reservations at 8pm. As people who love making fancy cocktails at home, we had a great time drinking and speaking with one of the mixologists, Shun. The drinks and the view were both out of this world. We had some free time before our dinner reservation so we decided to go to the Golden Hour reception. Down there we met Saika and Maiko, among others as well. Saika had such a sweet personality and really seemed to enjoy speaking with us. She answered all of our questions with a genuine smile. And then we were interested in some sort of Sake martini, in comes Maiko. It seems like she spent the greater part of 30 minutes trying to hunt down the right person to make this for us, and she succeeded! We were so impressed with her persistence and overall dedication to making our experience special. And then Yasaka...The food, the drink were phenomenal, but the best part of our experience was being seated right in front of Mr. Kentaro. It was so much fun watching him, but it was more fun listening to him answer our questions about what we were eating and how he was preparing it. As we exited your gifted some yummy truffle pastries and a signed menu! How cool is that?! Breakfast - The food was so good! During our stay we tried all of the traditional options and most of the items on the buffet. Sena spent a significant amount of time describing in English what the items were. She was great. Lee was awesome, too! We had so much tea at our breakfasts and loved all of it. We went over to ask a question about the tea and Mr. Satoshi brought out the bag that they used so we could take a picture of it. Sarah also made her way over to speak with us as well and we loved talking to her, also! Nice job with breakfast. Yum yum and yum. I could type on and on about how the many small details about our stay that puts this place at the very top. Miona going to get a coffee for us right before we walked out at night. Ivan being ready and willing to answer our questions. Hiroki at breakfast making us feel welcome. Housekeeping was superb, but some small detail just made me shake my head in amazement. We left our sunglasses out before we went out for dinner and when we returned we found lens cleaner right beside our glasses. What a thoughtful detail! So impressed. We felt so loved and taken care of throughout our stay. Everywhere we looked there was a smile and a willingness to assist us. I wish we had a few more nights here. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. And then as we were ready to walk to our bus stop to get back to the Kyoto station Yun surprised us with some cute little stuffed animals for our kids!! And then! Mr. Billy told us that it would probably be nicer to get a ride to the train station and set up a ride for us!! We were touched and left without words. We are regular people from the middle part of the United States and we felt like we were the king and queen of the most prestigious royalty family in the world. From the physical building, to the food and drink, and some of the kindest most caring people, the Park Hyatt Kyoto wins! Thank you for taking such good care of us!

Hands down the best hotel we’ve ever stayed at. The ambiance, location, service, food, and rooms were all incredible. It’s no wonder this place is always booked—it deserves every bit of the hype. A perfect blend of luxury, modern comfort, and timeless tradition.

From the moment I arrived, the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful in every possible way. Their warmth and professionalism set the tone for a truly memorable stay. The property is exquisite. Every detail is well thought out and beautifully executed. Every edge, surface, and design element was straight, clean, and calming — a perfect balance of luxury and serenity. I’ve stayed in many of the world’s top five-star hotels, but this is by far the nicest property I have possibly ever stayed in. Thank you for this wonderful treat — an experience I’ll remember for a long time.
