There are not enough words to describe the experience we had with our stay with Park Hyatt Kyoto. Being a globalist for many years, this is undoubtfully the best Hyatt I had ever stayed and one of the best luxury hotels I had stayed. Park Hyatt Kyoto situates in such a beautiful and convenient location. Minutes walking from Kiyomizu-dera, Yasaka Pagoda, other attractions, food and shopping. The hotel itself is elegant, defined with low key luxury in every aspects of the design and the building with its Japanese yet modern architecture design blended well with the beautiful surrounding. It was built on a hill so some of the hotel rooms are much higher with great view of the surrounding, especially with the Agoda and sunset view. The hotel provide unparallel service started from the front entrance greeting and then throughout the entire hotel. The room is beautifully designed with floor to ceiling windows. With globalist status, we got fresh fruit and fresh flowers every day. The Yuzu Tofu Soufflé Pancake in the breakfast restaurant is tasteful, beautifully made, and fun to eat. This is truly an exceptional stay for us and we will carry in our memory forever.

World class experience with service that goes so above and beyond, I was startled. Everything about this hotel, from the people, to the food, to the space and the architecture, to the view is a wonder. I don't think I've ever walked into any other hotel before and felt as though I was entering a color--the color being gold. No other hotel in the world, as far as I know, so immediately embraces you into a quality of light like that. Wonderful food, activities, and location. Simply the best.

What a remarkable hotel, nestled in Ninenzaka, against the Kodaiji-yama National Forest and directly adjacent to the Kōdai-ji Temple. The location is perfectly situated (though not as accessible to public transportation). However, this hotel really shines with exemplary staff (from front desk to housekeeping), pristine facilities, and luxurious furnishings. This was one of the best hotel experiences that I’ve encountered.

Park Hyatt Kyoto is simply amazing. The location, the service, and rooms are incredible and well deserving of their 5-star reputation.

PHK met and exceeded all my expectations. Luxury at its finest. The property is visually stunning and in immaculate condition. Location can't be beat. Went in Autumn to witness the decidouous forest foliage. Service on a whole new level. They killed us with kindness.

Overall experience at the hotel was great, as expected. A few callouts for globalists coming: (1) "garden view" (which in fact is a room facing a stone wall) is the default - don't expect any complementary upgrade at this property. (2) ONLY "champagne" is complimentary during Champagne hour - we were told food were covered too and ended up paying. (3) Garden is not open to guests - they are reserved for events.

Our most anticipated stay for our 2 week vacation in Japan this November with me, wife, and infant. Photos don’t do the property justice. Pristinely maintained, mixing modern and traditional Japanese designs. Located within the historical Higashiyama district, minutes away from Yasaka Pagoda and Kiyomizu-dera temple. Although this was amazing to explore the busy streets of Higashiyama, one drawback is that if you have difficulties with walking up/down hill you’ll definitely need to take a cab to get to other areas of Kyoto. The rooms themselves are wonderful as expected of this caliber of hotel. I won’t speak to this too much but all the products and room amenities were top tier. You should expect overall smaller square footage per room across the board in Kyoto hotels but by no means was the room “small”. As globalist we got free Western breakfast which was decent. The french toast was memorable and I would say overall breakfast options were above average. We did try the Japanese breakfast one day for an extra charge and this was 100% worth it. This was definitely a highlight and I would highly recommend trying this at least once during your stay. Although not a major factor for most people, I felt the only thing the property was lacking in was the fitness room and “onsen” areas were quite small. Lastly I will say that what made our stay stand out among the rest was that even among other ultra luxury hotels we’ve experienced, the staff here were incomparable in making us feel welcome, at ease, special, and catered to in every regard. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, every single staff member was so attentive yet never was overbearing. No detail was missed, even with our infant. For this reason alone we will definitely be staying at the Park Hyatt next time we are in Kyoto.
