Stunning property in a great location. Our dinner in the Tea House with a Meiko was magical. Beautiful Yukatas, slippers and PJs. Wish I could have stayed longer!

Amazing property with one of the best bars and restaurants ever. Loved the ambience and warmth of the lighting, the friendly staff, and the quiet, serene environment. Definitely one of the best resorts in Japan in my opinion. The location was amazing. When you walk out the front door, you are in the heart of Kyoto with all of its' charm and bustling activity.

There are not enough superlatives to describe our magical experiences at the gorgeous Park Hyatt Kyoto. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the smiling Car Attendants , & then ushered into the Lobby with champagne and we met beautiful Miona (who should be the FACE of The Park Hyatt advertising campaign), who made our entire stay so delightful! Our Room was so beautiful we could hardly bear to leave it. Highlights were The Tepanyake Dinner (over the top) with a Birds Eye view of Kyoto, (Kentaro a Master Chef), and the Spa & Fitness Facility where you have acccess to Plunge Pool, Sauna, Steam Room & Jacuzzi every day, all day! We loved the morning Bistro Buffet Breakfast offering both Japanese & American dishes , and we so enjoyed Gerard! and the Lounge with the Fireplaces was such a cozy hangout also! We also loved Room Service! The Entire Staff were so very lovely & kind, and the Makeup Room Attendants were on another Level! We appreciated them sooo much! The Concierge Staff offered invaluable service making our way around Kyoto, and Bill welcomed us with open arms! The Hotel was touted to be the Gem of their Chain and the experiences we had there exceeded every expectation we had by miles! The rooms are soooo quiet and perfectly furnished! And small gifts being delivered every day … They just couldn’t do enough for us! We enjoyed 3 nights at this hotel, starting off our trip to Japan. Really nice hotel, solid service, excellent breakfast. The art, which is everywhere, is lovely, and the views from the lobby ate particularly nice. The rooms are a bit on the small side but adequate.

From the time we were greeted at the gate to the time we sadly had to leave, the Park Hyatt Kyoto demonstrated a level of service that absolutely shined in all aspects. We could not have been happier with our stay.

The hotel and grounds were breathtaking - it is in a very convenient location to Gion, but inconvenient to the rest of Kyoto as it is a bit of a walk to the nearest station. The staff was amazing and attentive to our needs and we were greeted when we arrived at night.

This was an 11/10 property. The location was PRIME. The staff when WAY above and beyond and it just had a feel of a very small high touch boutique property. The rooms and grounds are so peaceful and well designed and the food was fantastic. Don’t miss the traditional breakfast and the matcha granola.

Great hotel, friendly staff, good location and extremely nice bedrooms. The hotel is wonderfully decorated in Japanese style and modern.

We stayed for five nights at the Park Hyatt Kyoto, and the experience fully met the brand’s high standards. Arrival was seamless — check-in was a breeze — and we were soon in our rooms, which were large, full of light, and immediately comfortable. Each room offered generous closet space, easily twice what most five-star hotels provide. The property itself is beautifully designed: modern yet distinctly Japanese, with natural wood, stone, and soft light creating a calm, almost serene atmosphere. Its location in Higashiyama is ideal — close to Kiyomizu and Gion, yet tucked away enough to feel private and peaceful. From the first evening it was clear how well the architecture captures Kyoto’s rhythm: refined, quiet, and deeply connected to its setting. Our rooms overlooked the garden, offering a tranquil view that shifted beautifully with the light. The interiors were contemporary but grounded in Japanese aesthetics — elegant, understated, and quiet. At night, the property felt suspended above the city, calm and intimate, with no sense of crowding even at full occupancy. Service throughout was exceptional. Housekeeping, laundry, and in-room dining were handled to the highest standard. The only minor drawback is that in-room dining setup takes time — the attendant carefully lays out the table to restaurant standards, which looks perfect but means the meals can lose some heat. Still, the quality of the food and presentation were outstanding, especially for breakfast and dinner in the room. We also tried Kyoto Bistro once for breakfast — pleasant and efficient for a quick meal, though busier than the rest of the usually quiet hotel. We did not dine at Yasaka this time. The bar, with its panoramic view of Kyoto, is architecturally stunning, but the cocktails were unremarkable and the bar staff less polished than elsewhere — the only slight miss in an otherwise flawless stay. The concierge team deserves special mention. Ms. Nakae and her colleagues were exceptional — warm, precise, and remarkably efficient. They arranged several cultural experiences that exceeded what I had asked for, all organized with perfect timing and attention to detail. What made their service truly exceptional was the clear interest and care they showed in us and our interests — the sense that every recommendation was thoughtfully personalised to our taste. This is true hospitality. Across all my visits to Kyoto, I have not encountered a more capable or professional concierge team. Overall, this was a perfect stay and a true example of high-end hospitality — attentive, thoughtful, and delivered with quiet confidence.
