Cliff House Hotel

Enjoyed and found the staff friendly and helpful. Restaurant service and food both for breakfast and dinner added to the enjoyment

We had a very pleasant stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a buffet breakfast with much variety. The evening meal was very good. We had entertainment on the Sunday when we arrived. There is a bar and large garden. There was a coffee pod machine in the room, kettle, bottled water and biscuits. There were toiletries and bath robes available also. There was no maid service due to the pandemic, but if we needed replacement towels or sundries staff were quick to assist. There is parking on site and the hotel is on a good bus route. The hotel is within walking distance of a lovely sandy beach. We had a lovely stay at Cliff House.

The property was ok, staff were helpful although it would have been nice to have housekeeping clean the room each day and even when we completed the form for replacements this didn't happen

The staff were friendly and helpful. The only issues were noise (room was above the bar/restaurant) and the shower didn't work.

We were extremely disappointed that the hotel didn't have sanitising stations set up around the reception, restaurant, public areas etc. The breakfast was serve yourself which meant that you had to touch utensils previously used by other guests. Very few of the staff wore masks and none of the guests we saw wore them. The hotel room was very hot to the point where it was oppressive and extremely uncomfortable. Air conditioning or at least fans should be in the room. The lack of Covid measures and extreme room temperature let us to end our stay early.

Lovely weekend break...got lucky with the weather and enjoyed swimming in the sea and the beautiful clean sandy Southbourne beach which was a 5 minute walk down the road. Could not fault the hotel and the friendly vibe from all the staff it was like home from home. Room was perfect,tea,coffee, hot choc lovely fluffy towels and spotlessly clean, only thing I’d say lacking was mini fridge to keep drinks cool. Great restaurants within walking distance and also could eat in the hotel.....food looked really good but we like to explore, ate at a great Thai and fish restaurant nearby. Would definitely recommend and return again.

Enjoyed our stay, a very comfortable relaxed stay. Staff were lovely. Only issue was the breakfast, it was tasty enough however we had a long wait for basic stuff like bread, bacon, beans etc. The fruit bowl was very poor, withered plums and squishy kiwi, not appealing I love fresh fruit for breakfast. A variety of bread would have been appreciated as well. Overall though its a great little hotel, good evening meal and wide choice of beers and spirits at the bar. I would return. Due to Covid we chose not to have our room serviced but got anything we had run out of with no trouble. Well positioned for the beach and the main high street.

This was our first time at Hill House Hotel, and we will be returning. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The restaurant evening meals and the buffet breakfasts were very good, but what made the weekend was the staff. A very young team worked their socks off over a very busy weekend.
