Baymont by Wyndham Traverse City

The staff is friendly and efficient, the king room was a good size. Location near downtown and other great activities. The price was good for that area.

Friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean and comfortable.

Hot tub and pool were decent, and adults only after 10pm to midnight is a nice plus. There was a girls soccer team in town so quite busy, but quiet in the evening, even with our room being right next to the pool. Nice fenced patio with furniture to hang outside in the evening. Too bad someone broke one of the fence walls down, either with force or by vehicle... Breakfast Buffet was great, make your own waffles, scrambled and omelette egg varieties, sausage, hash browns, toast, bagels, muffins, cereal, yogurt. You have the option of milk, juice or coffee. They also have a small private store setup for soda and energy drinks. Nice king suite with pullout sofa bed. We were there for a few days so we moved the couch in front of the bed to be better accessible to watch TV. Great location just 10 minutes south of downtown Traverse City. Will be back again in the spring.

Checking in was good room was nice pool and hot tub good. The next morning about 8am the breakfast was not good all the tables where dirty no one taking care of breakfast area nor was the lady that was working at the desk around for like 20 mins. A guest walked into the kitchen to get his own coffee what a joke.

Front desk clerk was too soft spoken. When I asked her to speak up because I couldn't hear, she talked even softer. Frustrating. People parking in handicap areas with no handicap plate or hang tag. People on our floor (3) were smoking marijuana and it was coming into the hallway. Also cigarettes were smoked and smell was in the hallway. Both smells hit us in the face when we opened our door or got off the elevator. We complained to the desk, but again nothing was done. Nothing was done for 2 whole nights! My daughter and I are allergic to the smell of burning marijuana. It makes us puke. What a lovely 2 nights, heaving our stomach contents out. The next day they had fans on this floor. I'm guessing they were trying to rid the floor of the stench. My room had a NO SMOKING sign. I bet theirs did too! Baymont used to be a great Hotel chain. For the price I paid for the room, I expected a better experience. If I wanted a low class environment, I would have saved myself about half of the cost of my room and stayed in a budget motel! I will remember this for next year. I think I should be reimbursed the cost of my room for both nights. You have lost this customer. Unfortunately, I don't think management cares. Sadly I will be surprised if I get a letter or email in response to my complaints. Also when I checked out, I was not given a receipt and was told it would be emailed to me. Breakfast was good. Location as advertised on Booking and hotel website is not correct. Using the address and/or link takes you to where it is advertised to be. However that is a AAA building. The Baymont is actually 15 min to the south and is not across from the water. It took us 40 min and 3 phone calls to find it. Desk clerk laughed and said it was a recent google maps problem they are trying to resolve. Oh, really? We booked it back in June and it's now Oct. False advertising and so frustrating! He offered us 2 waters for the misunderstanding.

When the hotel wasn't where it was advertised to be, we first called the # on the booking receipt. No answer. Caled the direct line to this hotel. No answer. Found customer service # for Baymon by Wyndom. Got what sounded like someone from India who we could not understand. She did finally email us a link to the correct location. However she forwarded our call to someone trying to sell us something! Ironically he spoke perfect English and didn't even acknowledge our 40 min hunt for our hotel. Whatever!

Felt safe parking and in room. Walls are thin. Earplugs should be provided.
