Riu Palace Antillas - Adults Only - All Inclusive

Arrived on Monday, March 2nd and everything was great. By Tuesday morning, March 3rd the entire hotel has lost cable and no TV's are working! On Tuesday afternoon, while eating lunch in their dinning room, roaches were running over on top of the buffet table! The rooms a/c's are all locked at 69° F. I like it cooler and u can't adjust. Room safe is broken as well. Today is Friday, March 6th, 2026, and we are looking forward to going back home tomorrow. The hotel manager, Carlos, has been asked everyday about the cable issue and he just smiles and states that they are working on it. When told about the roaches he stated they would call an exterminator. Truly no compassion or compensation.

My family and I spent an amazing week at the Antillas! This was our second time here and once again it was fantastic. A very special thank you to John and Jan in the main buffet as well as Brandon from the entertainment team. You all made us feel so welcome and the dedication you all have to your work is amazing, thank you so very much. Aruba is a wonderful country and I cannot say how much we love going to the RIU Place and Antillas both. Thank you from Canada!

I do not want to bore you with what should be a very long review, so I'll make this short instead. As Riu members, we book our room directly on the Riu website 3 months in advance. We selected the Junior Suite Ocean view room (website description: Incredible Ocean views). At the hotel check-in they gave us a standard, partial sea view room (view overlooking a rooftop and directly across at the side of the Riu Palace. The only water view was leaning over the balcony and looking far to the left you see about 20% view of water). They told us that there were no more Ocean view rooms available. We complained that we didn't get the room we paid for, and the front desk manager agreed, she then offered us a partial refund and told us it will be returned to our bank account in 2-3 weeks. After many, many emails, 109 days later we finally received the partial refund.  On the more positive side, this is a very nice hotel (if you get the room you paid for) and have no inconveniences like us then your stay should be great. The location is perfect. It's an easy walk to town for shopping. We could also use the facility of the Riu Palace (building next to Antillas) that we often used. The food, the drinks and room cleaning service were also very good. The pool water could have been a bit warmer (Ocean water was actually warmer). The beach is nice for long walks, and only about 15-minute walk to Eagle Beach (using sidewalk).  A beautiful Island. Overall, our stay was wonderful!

The location on the beach is great and behind the hotel is an area with restaurants and shops if you want to eat somewhere else. The facility was standard RIU(ive stayed at 4 others). It was clean and the food was good. Every waitress we had was amazing at restaurants and buffet We did book the UTV tour with the tour desk at the hotel and we had the best time. I highly recommend. You can use the facility on the other side which is not adults only, when we were there the Olympic hockey was on so got to watch a few games in the American bar.

I think this hotel is overpriced and dated but still had the best time. Asked for a shuttle and was told yes and then our name wasn't on the list so we had to pay out of pocket to get to hotel.

Facilities were clean. There was plenty to do on property to keep you busy. Food and beverages were good. Staff was great, very friendly and pleasant always.

Location was good but just a bit far from the downtown area so needed to take a cab. There were only 5 elevators for the whole hotel so at busy times of day, had to wait for some time to get the elevator. Although unable to make reservations at restaurants, usually you could get a spot and they have a pager system to help during your wait. Most restaurants had short wait aside from the steak restaurant which was popular so longer wait.
