Alfama Tailor Made Green House With a View

The apartment is in a good location in Alfama, and has easy access to the tram. It was very clean. We had excellent communication with the staff prior to our arrival.

During our final night, water started to leak through the ceiling from the floor above. We were awoken to this and collected / cleaned up all the water. We notified the property’s management via two communication methods but had no response. A couple hours later, there was a second leak from a new location in the ceiling. Again, we cleaned up the mess and communicated with property management, and again no response. It’s not so much the leak that bothers me, these things can happen, but not responding to your customers while they’re dealing with water coming from the ceiling isn’t acceptable.

Great appartment at perfect location (right at a tram 28 stop, and very close to greatest view kiosk terrace (Mirador Portas do Sol). Separate bedroom with good double bed and street view.

No airco, so might get hot inside.

Great location in the old town. Small supermarket close by. It was great to have a washing machine!

It was quite hot with doors and windows shut but quite noisy with them open. We needed to use the fans 24/7.

The apartment is light with high ceilings. As it mentions in the title, the apartment is in Alfama. Despite there being view points just around the corner which get very busy, the street the apartment on is fairly quiet (except for trams). There is a small convenience shop at the end of the road and a souvenir shop which has a luggage room a few doors down which charged 5 euro per person. There are breakfast places and wine bars nearby. It possibly takes 10 - 15 minute walk to the main shopping centre. It is preferable to get transport to Belem or LX Factory, we walked everywhere else. We found that the shower worked well, there was a good hairdryer and plenty of plugs. The sofa bed was easy enough to pull out. For anyone who may struggle with the steep paths up to the apartment or taking their luggage up stairs - have a think if this place is for you! The host was quick to respond. They have partnered with transportation services and can provide some food - we didn't use these services.

The only comments that we had was that it would be good to have an extra wine glass and a mirror or two!

Spacious property, great location, nice host, and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Would happily stay again!

Outside was a little noisey if you had the windows open.

Some basic maintenance required e.g. small pull out bed broken. When the windows are open it is a noisy neighbourhood with people and trams going past. This comes with being in the centre and fine if you close the windows.

On the second of my 7 day stay there was an issue with the shower leaking down to the apartment below and as expected the neighbour was quite angry about it. It was fixed after 2 days.

great value for the money. The place had everything you needed and Alfama region is so lively. Public transport just outside of the apartment.
