Poor parking..

Filthy room initially. Manager did give us a different room, which was ok. Generally a disappointing experience.

Customer Service was great!

I loved how big and clean it was. My kids loved look up and seeing all the floors. The room was set up nice. Also having access to streaming programs that we could log in to was great.

My only complaint is that when I booked the hotel online we asked for a crib. We never ended up receiving one. We went down both nights asking for one and they kept saying “okay we’ll have someone bring one up as soon as possible”. We also called several time after not receiving one when going downstairs. We still were able to get our youngest to sleep without one but it definitely would have been easier with it!

Stood at the check in counter for over 10 minutes while staff talked on the phone. Husband was told there was no available handicap parking, but we were welcome to use the parking garage. Staff were not friendly and very distant during the check-in process. Parking was a nightmare! Elevators were extremely slow and crowded.

To start off we pulled up to the front entrance and it was a complete s#!tshow. Overrun with cars and people, there was no order to what was going on. We paid for self park in advance and there was no indicating of where that would be. We couldn't get close too the entrance to unload out check in. On top of that, there were no carts to bring luggage to the room. Traveling with 2 kids (1 and 12yo) and 2 adults that made things difficult to say the least. When i finally found someone from the hotel and asked where self parking was, i was told it was across located down the block and across the street. Odd but OK. Next he told me we had to check in to get the pass before we could park. I asked him where i should park to do that and he told me he didn't know if have to find a spot. Great help. So now we're parked, right in the middle of the chaos, and we have to get all our bags and 2 kids in. 3 relays and a crying baby later were in there lobby. 1 out of the 2 desk clerks are checking in the line. The male (ish) clerk was on his phone and looking down avoiding eye contact. Now we get checked in finally and go to the elevator bank of 3. Only 2 are working on a Friday night and the place is clearly packed. After 6 minutes of waiting we finally cram into the elevator like cattle, my one and a half year old getting bumped multiple times by bags. So I'm running in the red now but just trying to keep it together and get to the room. Room looks fine. Nothing special. Our older daughter pulls out the sofa couch. Unmade. Search of the room we find pillow and linens in the cabinet under the tv in a questionable state as to clean or dirty. Blanket definitely dirty. Fuming and disgusted i call the front desk. The male from earlier answers the phone and asks if he can put me on a brief hold. So 10 mins goes by ever so briefly, at this time i discover there's only a remote for the bedroom and nothing fort the living room area. This had become an exercise in the art of self control because I'm part the point of angry and into fury. I hang up and call the front desk again. Automatically put on hold no one even answered to ask if i could hold. So i hang up and call again. Male answers again and asks if he can put me on a brief hold, i say no I've been in a brief hold for 10 mins already and i try to tell him what I'm calling about. Before i finish my sentence i hear hold music. Now I'm literally vibrating with rage. I go to the front desk and he's literally standing there alone. No one at the desk and another older woman is standing against the wall behind where he is. When i ask why he couldn't take my call he says he was helping other customers. I say what customers? He says they just left here to go to their room. At this point I'm just like how many tv remotes are supposed to be in the room? 2. Will i only have one how do i get another? We'll have one sent up if we have one. I feel myself starting to boil over but i remember i have 3 girls upstairs and they are the most important thing. I say fine but my daughter is going to sleep don't bring it to late and don't call if you don't have one. Totally blanking on the linens and blanket at this point i return to the room. We figure out something with the clean stuff because i don't want to deal with the incompetence any longer. This will be the last time we ever stay here. This location has permanently smudged the previous impeccable image i had of embassy suites and will definitely choose other chains over this one when they are available whenever i need a place to stay. Taking a shower didn't even wash away the gross feeling i got from this place. Spend your money and time wisely and go somewhere else when you need to stay in Charleston, WV.

I travel weekly for work and this was an extremely pleasant experience! From the valet to the bell man and the room…all VERY NICE! Pleasant friendly staff, a very clean room! PERFECT!!

The facility was centrally located in the city of Charleston. Their adjacent parking was extremely convenient. Their breakfast foods and dining space was top notch, including custom omelettes made by a stationed chef and well-stocked and refreshed buffet items (scrambled eggs are the creamiest and most wonderful my wife and I have ever tasted). The shuttle service was a major asset for moving within the city for meals and sights. An evening (2 drink complimentary) cocktail hour was most hospitable. The suite/room was vast and comfortable. The bed, extremely comfortable.

Their offloading area is not vast, although there was sufficient space to get the job done and move along to parking - or to have parking done by valet. Coffee and tea were only available in the room during non breakfast hours, in spite of the fact that they do have a coffee bar in the lobby.
